Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team

Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team Ranch horse is a competition that pushes you to improve both horse and rider, and do the best not only for yourself but for your team as well.

There are four parts the ranch horse competitions and they are: reining, trail, pleasure, and cow work. In reining you must teach your horse to change leads on command, come to a sliding stop, be able to change and maintain speeds, spin, and complete a pattern in front of a judge. In trail your horse must be able to go over or through any obstacle put in front you. You must be able to jump over an

ything up to 2 feet tall, you must also be able to control your horses feet and hips. In pleasure you must be able to keep your horse calm and take him through a variety of speeds while staying in the correct lead. Cow work is judged based on the horses ability work a cow by boxing it on the end of the arena

I’d like to say a big thank you to 7L land and cattle and and my Coach Holly Irish! Without being on this team my horsemanship and horse wouldn’t be progressing like they are now. Being on this team has taught me so much and will help me with the many more projects to come!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all those who helped make yesterday’s 3 in 1 ranch rodeo benefit for the Duncan Family a huge success! My team worked hard to set it up and I’m so proud of all their efforts! Gatlin is a huge asset to this team and community and we are humbled to gather all those who love and support him and his family for some ranch fun! This community is full of some of the greatest people! We were able to get everything donated that we needed to put it on! Thank you to all of our contestants, their families, all those who came to watch, those who donated, those who bought raffle tickets, those who sold tickets, the winner of the 50/50 who donated it back to the Duncan Family, our timers, our secretaries, our judges, the Rodeo Team, Coach Smith, Ted Wright and Smith Ranches for the cattle and Michael Hall and Family for trucking the cattle in and out. Thank you from all of us here at Clarendon College!

Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team participated at the Stock Horse of Texas World Show in October. It was a learning and growing experience for this team. I’m so proud of them for staying hooked throughout the show, striving to improve. I’d like to offer a special Thank You to Ryan and Amanda Arndt and Austin and Christy Adams for feeding us like kings!! Also Thank You Arena Werks for good ground to get ready in and AMAZING ground to show in!
