Notification of Change in Business Hours:

Dear Valued Clients,
This notice is to inform you that our business hours will be changing during the month of February 2025. Our new closing time for Tuesdays & Thursdays will be 5:00 pm. Please note that our opening time remains unchanged.

Our new hours for February will be:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am-2:00 pm
Sunday: Closed

Welcome Dr. Amy Tolliver …..

Dr. Amy Tolliver grew up in Dalton, GA and attended the University of Georgia as an undergraduate, double majoring in Animal Science and Spanish. She then went on to study at UGA’s Veterinary School and graduated in 2015.

Dr. Tolliver is a certified fear free practitioner and is passionate about helping pets and owners experience as little stress and anxiety in the clinic as possible. She also has special interests in dentistry, behavior medicine and internal medicine.

Dr. Tolliver spends her spare time hiking with her beloved poodle Reena, gardening, and reading at home with her cat Oliver. She also enjoys cooking and travel to the surrounding north GA and NC mountains.

We hope this message finds you and your pets well. We have some important news to share about our veterinary team and want to assure you that our commitment to providing the highest quality of care remains steadfast.
Dr. Ashlee Melhado will be stepping away from our practice on November 15, 2024 to pursue missionary work in several different parts of the world in dire need of veterinary medical care. We have been lucky and proud to have her with us for the past several years. While we hope this is a temporary departure, we are deeply proud of Dr. Melhado’s dedication to making a difference in the world and know that the compassion and expertise she brings to her work will be a blessing to many.
During this transition, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Amy Tolliver to our team. Dr. Tolliver graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and brings a wealth of experience in veterinary medicine, surgery, and behavior management. Dr. Tolliver shares our values and commitment to the compassionate care of your pets, and we are confident she will be an excellent fit for our team. Many of you may have already met her over the past few years when she was practicing here on a locum basis.
Rest assured, patient care will remain thorough and seamless during this transition. Our staff and doctors are here to answer any questions you may have and ensure you and your pets feel supported through any changes.

Dear Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital Family,

We hope this message finds you all happy and healthy in the new year! As some of you may know, our hospital experienced significant flooding during the severe weather on January 9, 2024. Since then, we have had to temporarily close our office while we handle the restoration. During this time, we are available during limited business hours via telephone and are offering curbside pickup for medications and foods. Please call our office at 706-839-1718 for all inquiries and requests.

We plan to be open for appointments and operating normal business hours starting Monday, January 15, 2024. The restoration and construction will be ongoing in different sections of the hospital for the next 2-4 weeks. Our goal, as always, is to maintain the health and safety of our patients and clients. Depending upon the stage of the restoration and construction, we will be utilizing curbside service and appointments temporarily until our construction is complete. If you feel your pet is a poor candidate for this type of service, please let us know, and we can make other arrangements on a case-by-case basis. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your patience during this difficult time.

Please stay in your car upon arrival with your pet for all appointments and call 706-839-1718, and we will help you with your appointment or with any pickup of medications and foods.

If we are closed during normal business hours and your pet experiences an emergency, please contact the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital at 706-542-3221 or Upstate Vet at 864-233-7650. Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital will be temporarily closed due to flooding from a city water main. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. For the next couple of days we will be manning phones to get medication refills & food for those pets in need. Hours will vary so please call ahead to make arrangements for pick up.
