A few days ago I promised a list of the 2024 pairings. I'm excited about many of the combinations, but I don't yet have a summary. In fact I'm still pairing some (I brumated late therefore woke them up late, therefore I'm months behind everyone else).
Meantime, here's a fellow who hatched here in 2021 who is in the breeding lineup for the first time this season. He's Ultramel Anery Caramel Motley and his mate is a sibling, Ultramel Anery Motley phet Caramel.
His sire is one of the handsomest animals I've been privileged to own... second photo shows that fellow. An unrelated female is the hoped-for phenotype... her picture included as the visual for what I'm aiming for with this breeding.

23-27-1F Lava Cinder Stripe - NFS
With several litters of puppies to manage and countless behind-the-scenes personal crisis, there's barely been time to keep up with snakes, let alone post anything or reply to messages.
It has been looking like I was in danger of losing the entire breeding season. Thankfully, in the past few weeks I've managed a few pairings, among them the repeat of this lady's parents. There has been time for only a single lock for most of the pairs, so I need the entire universe to cross their fingers this year.
I'll post a list of the pairings as soon as I can...which won't be soon.

A 2022 Male from a female sold to me as Amber Stripe het Anery who has been throwing some curveballs that even after a second clutch has left me puzzling over her genetics. This guy was sired by an Ultramel Anery Motley het Caramel. That sire has produced offspring that seem to indicate he is also het hypo. Which makes it possible to get ghosts. Comparing this 2022 offspring to Ian's pic of a Caramel ghost, it looks identical to me... so while I still can't say for certain, at least I can say this fellow is Anery het Motley Stripe Ultra or Amel and either het or visual Hypo Caramel

I see everyone else posting hatchlings pics, and I've only just started pairing mine. Here's a pair of first-timers I'm rather excited about. The Flurorescent ERO mom was hatched here 3 years ago, and the Ultramel male came from Kenneth Diehl.
Just give me her wide borders on an ultramel with their combined colors and that'll do ;-)

Simply because I haven't posted anything in awhile, here's one of last year's babies.
Sometimes, when someone you thought was a genuine friend proves themselves to be unworthy of your generosity and trust, especially when that revelation comes at a time that other life events are already breaking your heart and wearing you down, it is a time to withdraw from human interaction for awhile to allow time with one's animals to heal you as you process the harsh reminder that one should not offer trust until that trust is earned.

Cinder looks good in any pattern, and this tessera has such a nice clean dorsal stripe it really shows off the metallic effect of the cinder (although my picture quality doesn't show what my eye can see in person).

There seems to be a theme of YELLOW lately... I'd be delighted if this guy carried yellow from nose to tailtip, but I'm liking what he's giving me .... can just imagine what the adult version will be like.

(Before offering comments about her pupil looking dark and therefore not an ultramel: (a) mom is an Ultra het Caramel, dad is Buttermint stripe (Amel Cinder Caramel Stripe) ergo *all* offspring are ultramel (b) check out picture # 2, different angle)
Looking forward to the next generation, with a grab bag of cinder or peppermint stripes or motleys, buttermint stripes or motleys, Ultramel cinder stripes or motleys... so many different possibilities. Inquire about siblings.

I can't say I'm sad that I didn't get around to posting this RF Snow on MM....this is the one I mistook for its RF Ultramel Ghost sister on the last round of feeding (currently the page header photo). Their Tequila Sunrise granddam sure seems to be strongly influential
