They make wonderful enrichment and help keep our animals happy and busy after the holidays.

🌬️💚 Farm Life Update – Storm Edition! 💚🌬️

Last week’s wind storm came through with a little too much enthusiasm and took our greenhouse along for the ride 😅💨. While it was definitely a tough moment, that’s just part of life on the farm, you roll with the weather, pick up the pieces, and keep moving forward.

Farming teaches resilience, gratitude, and how to find joy even when things don’t go as planned.

Onward, upward, and always forward… because at the farm, there’s always something growing 💪🌾💚

I missed National Llama Appreciation Day, but I couldn’t let it go by without posting about this guy — Teddy 💕

Two Mondays ago, Teddy gave us the scare of our lives. I noticed him standing in the position to go to the bathroom and not really moving from it, which I knew wasn’t right. We rushed him to the vet for emergency surgery.

We were able to be involved in the surgery, and honestly… it was terrifying. Llamas are not meant to be on their backs, and unfortunately that’s how they had to position him for surgery. His lung collapsed during the procedure, but thankfully they were able to get the stone — and it was a large one.

To say he was in pain would be an understatement. He’s still not feeling 100% and isn’t eating as much as I’d like, but he’s surrounded by constant love, care, and watchful eyes every single day.

If you’re the praying or positive-thoughts type, please keep Teddy in your thoughts. He’s one tough boy, and we’re hopeful he’ll continue to improve.

And yes… I’ll admit it — you’re not supposed to have favorites, but Teddy is mine 🤍🦙

As the holiday season rolls in, we’re closing up the farm for a little winter rest and recharge. ❄️❤️
