The top photo was the day I brought Seven home. She was weak, underdeveloped, and unsure of herself. The bottom is her now.

Before I ever climbed on, I spent the first two months just feeding her up and helping her build strength. We did tons of groundwork, posture work, and trust building before ever worrying about rides.

Some horses are naturally built with better posture and balance, just like some are born with naturally quiet minds. Others, like Seven, need a little extra time to build that strength and confidence and that doesn’t make them bad or difficult. It just means they need someone willing to slow down and help them develop the right way.

That’s also why I haven’t put a ton of rides on Cajun yet. Her mind is ready, shes willing, and trusting but I want her body to catch up. I want her to have the strength, posture, and core development to support herself correctly before we start asking for more.

That kind of foundation builds longevity, soundness, and confidence and that’s what I care about most.

Fifth ride for Swayze today and our first time out in the open! 🌤️ We mixed in some obstacle work and trust-building challenges, and she handled it all with so much try. Watching her grow and soften with every ride is so rewarding. I’m just so proud of both girls! Seven leading the way, and Swayze learning to trust the process. 💛

When Swayze gets nervous, her instinct is to shut down. So today, I brought in Seven my wild, frisky, confident little helper to show her how to move her feet again. Seven’s the kind of horse that makes everything feel possible… even dragging a tarp around like it’s no big deal. Third ride for Swayze, and it was her best one yet. 🤍

Today was this sweet filly’s first ride and I couldn’t be happier with how she handled it. 💛

Even though she’s been here a little over 30 days, we’ve only had about two weeks of actual work together. Between a few unexpected setbacks and some time off to let her reset, I made the choice to slow things down and let her come along at her own pace.

Sometimes it’s easy to feel “behind schedule,” but today was the reminder I needed that going at their pace always pays off. When I finally swung a leg over, she stayed calm, soft, and tuned in, head low, licking and chewing, moving off pressure without tension or worry.

No lunging down, no sweating her out, no running energy off, just quiet groundwork, patience, and trust. 🕊️

Here’s to slow starts and steady foundations. 💫

Day 4 with Swayze 🔥
This filly is as spicy as they come, but also incredibly smart. The first couple days were about showing her how to switch from being reactive to actually thinking things through. Today she’s already starting to choose that thinking side on her own — and that’s where the real progress begins.

✨ New Project ✨
This gorgeous 2-year-old filly is here for 60 days! She’s a clean slate, so we’ll be starting with the basics and building her foundation before she ever sees a saddle. At the end of her program, she’ll be available for sale — follow along to watch her transformation! 🐴💫

Seasoning young ones now… but I can still sit a turn when it’s time. 🐎💨

Working with young horses is all about patience, trust, and making it fun. Today my 3-year-old daughter and I teamed up with my 3-year-old Appaloosa filly for a little sled pulling, riding, and plenty of laughter. These moments remind me why I do what I do—building confidence, creating memories, and raising both kids and colts with love and trust. 💕🐴

Sometimes I feel “behind” with my filly. She’s only two and I’ve only got 7 rides on her, while others already have 100+ on theirs. But then she reminds me we’re on our timeline. Tonight she ground drove great, side passed to me, moved her shoulders/hips, let me climb on from the fence, and even stood up with me on her after I laid her down, calm and relaxed the whole time. We may not be riding a ton yet, but we’re building something solid, and I’m proud of her. Progress isn’t about keeping up—it’s about moving forward together. ❤️🐴

Had a great ride today with my two and three year old. Someone on the trail recognized me and shared how impressed they were with the work I’m doing with these young horses. It was such a kind reminder of why I love this journey—always learning, growing, and thankful for the horses in my life.
