The push to remote start in my truck is cool until I start it while I am riding and you freak yourself out because you aren't used to it just doing it that way. 😆
Key Fob is now in barn. 😆

New place, new surroundings, new things to think about, all means new emotions I suppose. 😆
This week I am just kinda refreshing everything she knows. Today she was not about cinching up, she was a bit shy of the saddle, and tested me. However instead of pushing her, I worked on throwing the saddle on and off, and walking around with it, then took it off and took a step back and worked her with a rope around her girth and just got her going in that direction again. When I see a hole that needs filled, I fill it and not try to rush and ruin the progress already made. Sooo, this is a refresher week for Uno! I'm really thrilled to have her here. She is a challenge, but one I have total faith knowing one day it'll all show why I did the apprach I did with her. Do I wish to be riding her right now? Oh absolutely!! But, I'm happy to say, she is different, she is a challenge, but I have so much to look forward to while having her up at the new barn. New goals and ideas are in the mix of things! So stay tuned! She's going to be such a nice mare. ❤️

I've been getting this question alot. ⭐️

"How do you correct a horse that paws?"

Well here's my answer: ⏬️♥️

Another Day in the life of "We don't own a goat, but he has made himself at home with the horses." Lol 😆 ...

The rest of this week I will be working with Monty on getting him more confident with his passenger sessions, in hopes to (if he seems ready,) get a first lope on him Friday! 😀
Our sessions will look about the same the next couple days, and into next week until he feels solid with his passenger sessions.
I always start on the ground. Always. Then I throw a leg over once I feel they are mentally engaged and ready, and off we go. These first several rides are all about gaining confidence at the pace the horse needs. He is so willing, and picked right up from yesterday. ❤️
I'll probably get a video Friday, but definitely when we do our first lope. He's just really figuring things out and it makes me happy.

My subscriber's got to see this prior to the public, but here is DAY ONE of sidepasssing towards you! ❤️

A couple of things:

1. They must understand how to move shoulders, and hind end, using my "Air Pressure" technique. ✅️

2. You must have a whip with a long end to use AS AN EXTENSION TO YOUR ARM! ✅️

3. Slow and steady wins the race. Ask for a little bit, release, reward, and you'll see if the timing is there, your horse will pick up the very basics in one day! ✅️

4. I like to use a panel to start before ever using the mounting block. It helps them get used to you "above them," and also helps you have better position to ask them on both sides. ✅️

5. The only thing we want today, is them moving off of you waving the stick towards their bodies until they make the correct move. It can be THE SLIGHTEST attempt, just praise and pet. ✅️

6. Don't get too excited when they get it and try to move on, take this DAY BY DAY. When they get the idea after this 3 day series, you can build up from there. ✅️

Fresh Shavings means it's time to ROLL. :)
The horses all get fresh shavings several times a week. They all enjoy a fresh layer of shavings! Especially after a workout session. ❤️
Both her and her sister, Dos, go down within minutes that I lay fresh shavings down. 😆

She is SO CUTE!!!! 😍 😊

I cant express how important that "soaking in" time is for your horses. After working my horses, I have them stand tied for at least an hr. Some days are less depending on what's going on, but to have a quiet and patient horse is major. They can learn to just "rest" and settle.
This was Uno's first tying session at a trailer.
She was so good about it! ❤️
This is how I found her several times. :)
