🐾 Rabies Vaccination Requirement at Our Clinic 🐾

We would like to remind our amazing clients that Rabies is a serious and fatal viral disease that affects mammals, including pets and people. It is most often transmitted through the bite or saliva of an infected animal. While rabies is preventable through vaccination, once symptoms appear, it is almost always fatal.

Because rabies can be transmitted to humans, Washington State law requires dogs, cats, and ferrets to be current on their rabies vaccination. This requirement exists to protect pets, their families, veterinary staff, and the community as a whole.

To help keep everyone safe, we require that all pets seen at our clinic are current on their rabies vaccine, unless there is a documented medical exemption from a veterinarian.

This policy:
• Helps prevent the spread of a deadly disease
• Protects our staff from potential rabies exposure while caring for your pet
• Ensures we are following state public health laws

If you’re unsure whether your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccination, or if you need help scheduling an appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to help.

Thank you for helping us keep our clinic safe and our community healthy. 🐶🐱

🐾 Meet Angel 🐾

Angel was a little nervous when she came in for her visit — and that’s completely okay. Her owner brought a lick mat, we took things slow, and gave Angel time to settle in. Before long, she warmed up and ended up having a great vet visit. 💙

Some dogs find veterinary visits stressful, and our goal is always to make each experience as calm and positive as possible.

🐶 Tools that can help nervous dogs:

• High-value treats to create positive associations.
• Lick mats during exams or procedures — licking can be very calming.
• Anti-anxiety medications, when appropriate, to reduce fear and stress and allow for safer, more comfortable care.
• Calming collars that release pheromones to help anxious pets — Adaptil collars are a brand our vets love.

Every dog is different. If your pet gets anxious at the vet, let us know — we can help create a plan that fits your dog and sets them up for success. 😊

Thank you for the 5 star Google review, Erica!

“Our Anatolian Shepherd/Grand Pyrenees mix was limping so we looked for an urgent care clinic and Riverview staff was extremely helpful in getting her taken care of. Hazel is almost done with her meds and stopped limping after two days! Thank you for giving her such great care!”

We’ve had so many amazing donations dropped off for Helping Hands Rescue. A huge thank you to everyone who has stopped by our clinic to grab a tag off the tree and help these pets. We will be continuing to collect donations until Dec. 24th when they will be given to Helping Hands.❤️🎄
