🐾 Rabies Vaccination Requirement at Our Clinic 🐾
We would like to remind our amazing clients that Rabies is a serious and fatal viral disease that affects mammals, including pets and people. It is most often transmitted through the bite or saliva of an infected animal. While rabies is preventable through vaccination, once symptoms appear, it is almost always fatal.
Because rabies can be transmitted to humans, Washington State law requires dogs, cats, and ferrets to be current on their rabies vaccination. This requirement exists to protect pets, their families, veterinary staff, and the community as a whole.
To help keep everyone safe, we require that all pets seen at our clinic are current on their rabies vaccine, unless there is a documented medical exemption from a veterinarian.
This policy:
• Helps prevent the spread of a deadly disease
• Protects our staff from potential rabies exposure while caring for your pet
• Ensures we are following state public health laws
If you’re unsure whether your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccination, or if you need help scheduling an appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to help.
Thank you for helping us keep our clinic safe and our community healthy. 🐶🐱
