🐾 Valentine's Day + Pet Theft Awareness Day: Keeping Your Pets Safe 🐾

Happy Valentine’s Day, but let’s not forget that today is also Pet Theft Awareness Day! While we’re celebrating the love we have for our pets, let’s also take a moment to ensure they’re safe and protected. ❤️🐶

👉 Microchip Your Pets: Ensure your pet is microchipped with up-to-date contact information. A microchip can be a lifesaver if your pet gets lost or stolen.

👉 Secure Your Property: Always keep your yard, home, and car secure. Install proper fencing, gates, and locks to prevent any easy escapes.

👉 It’s Illegal in Most Places to Have Your Dog Off-Leash: Keep your dog on a leash at all times unless you are in a secure area. Not only does it keep your dog safe, but it also prevents potential theft or other dangerous situations.

👉 Use Properly Fitted Gear: Make sure your dog is wearing properly fitted gear, including a harness or collar, so they can't slip out and escape when you're not looking.

If the worst happens, act fast! Contact local shelters, veterinarians, and post on lost pet groups and social media immediately.
