Our beautiful Rinny went home today with these two wonderful folks. We had asked for a forever home for this sweet girl that comes with health issues. This couple stepped up and said "Yes we will love her the rest of her life". We don't know how long that will be but we do know she will be spoiled and loved the entire time. Thank you both for taking Rinny into your home and hearts!❤🐾🐾

Providing food, water and shelter is not enough for being a pet owner. You absolutely MUST be able to provide veterinary care, preventative care and kind interaction with your pets. If you are simply dropping food and water at them, they are neglected. If you allow them to breed over and over and just give the offspring away, they are neglected. Consider how a child would fare if you simply fed them and gave them a spot to exist, never took them to a doctor or interacted with them, do you think they are neglected? Please fo not get a pet if you have no intention of really caring for them.

Our Lake Country SPCA pet of the week is Queenie!❤🐾🐾🐈‍⬛

768 days and nights.....Sadly, that's how long this lovely black and white kitty with pretty green eyes has been at LCSPCA since her owner gave her up. Queenie is shy and not pushy about getting attention. She often keeps herself safe under a cot or goes out the pet door onto the screened porch when strangers come through. So they don't notice her in a sea of other adoptable cats. Queenie is 4 years old and has now spent half her life in a shelter. She gets along great with other pets and is quiet and reserved. She is vaccinated, spayed & Felv/FIV tested. Please help a wall-flower find a forever home! Black cats are the least chosen color in animal shelters. And being shy on top of that doesn't help. Here is another one of our long time residents. Meet Barny!❤🐾🐾
Barny loves his pool! He loves to roll and splash in his cheerful , robust manner…. Barny is growing older but maintains his youthful vigor despite being in our shelter for over a year. He runs with a gregarious crew, and gets along with everyone he encounters. Always upbeat, always generous of spirit, Barny is one of a kind. He is approximately 7 years old, up to date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative. He is patiently waiting for his forever family to find him and take him swimming! Could that be you? This dog, female young girl was found in South Hill in the Moose Lodge parking lot. …most likely owned by same person who dropped her, but just making sure someone is not missing this girl…..please contact LCSPCA if this is your dog!

In our effort to highlight our long term residents we present to you Georgie!❤🐾🐾

George of the jungle? How he wishes this were true. Stoic and dignified, but full of wanderlust, Georgie yearns to roam and have his taste of freedom once again. This regal fellow has been here over a year, this is a puzzle to him. He gets along with all creatures, is somewhat of a loner, and is bright and thoughtful. All he wants is a field, a forest, a creek. His memories of such fineries are fading. Come visit Georgie at LCSPCA! We are located at 11764 Hwy 15 Clarksville VA. Gentle W***y. Our generous hearted comrade. He lifts the spirits of everyone around him with his charming, witty silliness. He plays tricks on his mates when out to romp. He hoards his food in his cheek, like a chipmunk, a unique habit all his own. He loves to lounge in his pool on his way in from the morning, making us all wait… just a little longer, while he splashes about, and then flies past us , smiling all the while. A true character, a gentle heart, a silly countenance. W***y has been here over a year..he wants a place to call his own. Please come visit W***y at LCSPCA! We cannot believe he has been here for a whole year. This bouncy, great natured lad is so much fun, he gets along with everyone, cats included! He is a beautiful, healthy, handsome young fellow. He came in with his brother, who was adopted almost immediately. He remains, cheerful, always upbeat. Ross would be a wonderful friend,,, and would be sure to keep someone smiling….with his antics and joy. Please come visit Ross at LCSPCA 11764 Hwy 15, Clarksville VA. We are going to highlight some of our long term residents in hopes of finding them their forever homes. First up is Rinny!❤

This is beautiful, beautiful Rinny. She is an older girl with several medical issues. She is heartworm positive, for one, but we fear she may not be able to go through the treatment. What we are asking for Rinny, I know is a lot. Perhaps someone to give her a home for the time she has left…..someone to just love her for awhile, and appreciate her sense of humor, which is lovely, her dignity and her grace. Her heart holds such kindness, it would be amazing to see her kindness returned. She is at least 6 years, probably more, very quiet, asking little……she loves to play with the water hose, has a habit of bringing you rocks instead of balls, and gets very silly. She is a delight. Our Lake Country SPCA Pet of the Week is Mystique!
Mystique is a super-fun, smart and energetic Border Collie/Pointer young dog. She came to LCSPCA as a transfer from the county pound on 6/17/24 at age 1 year, weighing 40 lbs. Mystique likes everyone and gets along with other dogs, but she'll need an active and energetic household given her young age and breed mix. Sweet update from recently adopted Shorty B, now Winston! We love it!❤🐾🐾

It’s been over 2 weeks now and Winston has settled in nicely in his new home! He loves his toy ball and monkey! He is not big on treats but loves doggie peanut butter cookies. He gets excited for meal time! First visit to the vet went well!! He is my shadow and a joy to have!!

Three month old Lab/Pit puppies still available at LCSPCA. The 2 tan with black ones are girls named Pudge & Biggie Gee. The lightest tannish-yellow one is a male named Picasso. The black & white ones are female named Precious Gem and males named Elvisito, Biggie Bee & St. Elmo. Their mom is a smallish 40 lb. extremely sweet Pit-mix and the dad is a Lab.
