On this cool morning, it is sooo nice to give you a happy story!! Our precious Ladybird has a new furrrever home! Yep it is true! Brought into rescue when her daddy died. Ladybird was soooo sweet. We wanted to make sure Ladybird would get along with her potential new sister, Xena. So, we had the dogs meet on a walk, in neutral territory, and it was so funny. They were walking by each other and looked at each other and then started licking each other! They were licking and started playing. Ladybird deserved the best, and she got it! Ladybird LOVES her new doggy sister Xena, and her new daddy! Ladybird and Xena took to each other like bees and honey. Ladybird loves being on the loveseat, the couch, wherever she wants! We love you Ladybird! Way to go!!!

It takes teamwork to get things done! This feral cat was sick and his feeder in Pekin contacted us. He told us he was disabled and coukd not afford to vet him. He said he would trap and get to a vet if we would pay the vet bill. Of course, we said if you can do that - we will pay to vet him. This gentleman got a trap and a vet appt in Salem. He trapped him, and made it to his appt! The kitty had severe upper respiratory. He was not happy, but getting the care he needs. We also found he was ear tipped! Yay!
His medicine is being mixed with his food and he is on the way to recovery.
This gentleman was so thankful. We can't forget the ferals! This gentleman went the extra mile making sure this baby was taken care of by finding help. A win, win for all of us. Your donations help these babies!! Thank you!

Welcome Jerry to Purrfect Friends! Jerry was taken to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital with a blockage several days ago. Ideally, he needed a gall bladder repair and was blocked, so PU surgery. Jerry wasn't expected to make it through the night, but he did. He has continued to improve without the surgery. The owners spent an enormous amount of money on this angel. The owners fear is due to the stress he is under at their home, 2 cats bullying him, he will immediately block again if taken home. So they asked for rescue. We had an offer to have someone medically foster him, taking him home with a catheter for 10 days, so the remaining financial burden transferred to Purrfect Friends. All his values are coming down with intensive care. He is still in the hospital and we are hoping he can come out tonight. Jerry is a baby, 1 1/2 yrs old and a sweet, sweet, boy. FOSTER NEEDED Southern Indiana/louisville area:: These two 3 year old babies need a foster home! Their young mom died of cancer. We adopted them out as kittens and they were precious then and they still are! Their names are Siobhan and Teo. They absolutely love each other and love people. Absolutely beautiful. UPDATE: She gave him to another home yesterday. It has been 24 hrs and they haven't returned him yet. Prayers for this precious boy.

Alfred was adopted approx 30 days ago from Animal House. The owner cannot keep him. She has left messages to return him with no response from LMAS. He has been given away on Facebook several times and people keep him 4 or 5 hours and say he won't quit crying. She goes and gets him back. She has contacted all the rescues and everybody is full. We would bring him into Purrfect Friends with a foster to ensure he gets a safe home. If you can open your heart and home to foster -email [email protected]

Ladybird says I am now ready for my furrrever home or foster care! She is soooo sweet. She is 61 lbs., heartworm tested negative, and 6 years old. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. She loves 2 little dogs she has lived with for several years. Her daddy died and we would love to get this angel into foster care or adopted! She is house trained and just a good girl. Was an angel for nail trim, shots, etc. We do not know how she is with cats. She loves people and deserves the best. We hope to have the yard sale Sept 27th and 28th, if it is going to rain we would have Oct 4th and 5th. The weather plays a huge role in whether we can have it or not since outdoors! Jake and George (White dogs) said we are now groomed and getting neutered today!! They are 11 and 12 lbs. They are now ready for foster care or adoption. Our precious Bailey says he has some awesome news to tell you! He has a furrrrrever home!! Bailey is 13 yrs old and we took him in when his mom went into a nursing home. The sadness and confusion for these seniors breaks your heart. But he adjusted. He had some health issues that we were concerned about but this boy ended up ok! When his new owners met him it was love at first. They think he is soooo special. He is now a U of L fan instead of IU!! He has been to a ball game, getting pup cups, and he is living the dream! We love you Bailey! Way to go!!

Colton says I am now a big boy at 12 weeks old, completely vetted, neutered, chipped and ready for my furrrever home! This little angel was found at 4 weeks old in the middle of nowhere! He had road rash and a cut under his eye but he is now all healed and ready for his furrever home! He is precious. If interested please email [email protected]

Ladybird says she is soooooo sad. Her daddy is no longer able to care for her and she needs a new home. Ladybird is the sweetest, spayed 6 yr. She shows no aggression at all. She lives with 2 small dogs and is house trained. We do not know how she would do with cats. We just know she is precious. Purrfect Friends will be updating her shots, heartworm testing, etc. She is a medium size dog. Southern Indiana area. The purrrrrfect size! George and Jake, 2 years old, say we are in a little bit of a predictament. Their daddy is very ill and can no longer take care of these cuties. Plus they have an older doggie sister who will need a new home. We have an appt for heartworm testing and vaccines. Then they will be groomed and neutered! Wait until you see what they look like after groomed!! They are sooooo sweet. They feel like they weigh about 11-14 lbs. These 2 little ones must be adopted together. It is hard to believe it was a year ago today we brought this precious girl into our rescue and our hearts. We quickly learned nobody wanted to foster a 13 year old dog! So many people said you just get attached and they die. Well, I wouldn't change one minute of our year with this senior!!! In her 13 years she had never been around a cat. I told Bella- you have to love cats Bella- don't screw this up!! The cats loved her on sight. She wasn't used to walks but now she loves to get exercise. She will go anywhere with us just to go! She plays like a puppy. She has some health issues and therefore not adoptable. Pancreatitus, hypothyroidism, and a collapsed trachea. But we are dealing with them. Now 14 years old, she is loved every bit as much as a puppy! Age does not matter. Happy gotcha day BELLA!!!

We have helped more people this year with vet bills then we ever have! People love their pets but they do not have enough money to save their pet in cases of emergencies or routine vet care. Between our own rescues needing vet care, and helping families with their pets, we need to have another yard sale! Your donations-100%- go to vet care! Animals are being left behind when people move at record numbers. It is so wrong. These two were left to fend for themselves. They were scared and a neighbor found them a place to stay, but it is extremely short term. They were infested with fleas, so missing lots of hair. These 2 are extremely bonded and super sweet. She thinks they are older like 8-10 yrs old but not sure. They are very pretty, and so sweet. We said we would vet them to help out, but they need a place to go! They cannot keep them. Colton said my life has sure taken a turn for the better!! Found in the middle of the road in Elizabeth, IN, he is sooooo lucky a good Samaritan saw him and scooped him up. He was scared to death and had a cut under eye, and it was bleeding. Soybeans was all that was on the side of the road and she could not find any more babies. How could this angel be in the middle of nowhere. We wish they could talk. Sooo......... welcome Colton to Purrfect Friends! Colton is very social. If you sit down up he comes to your lap. He tested felv/fiv negative, had his first shot, dewormed, and 5-6 weeks old.

Safaa says my life has been full of twists and turns, and I hope I am finally going to feel better! This angel is part of a bonded pair we adopted out as kittens 11 years ago. Their poor mom had a stroke and went to rehab. During that time, the kitties were alone. Unfortunately, their mom never came home again and we were contacted. We found an adopter, but discovered this angel had blood in urine and litter box issues
Obviously something was wrong. Back to a medical foster for this pair! Upon further testing we found out she had several large bladder stones! How painful!! We had them removed yesterday and she is doing well. We hope all her pain will be gone! She said if you think the surgery was bad -----wearing this onesie is a real issue! We love this pair. They have suffered so much and are love bugs. We have spent approx $2400 on medical bills for Safaa. She is worth every nickel. Please take care of your pets today! The loud noise scares a lot of pets and they blindly take off. Take your dogs out on a leash, and make sure your fences are secure. Have ID on your pets. More dogs will be lost today more than any other time of the year. People won't stop shooting off fireworks but we can help our poor pets during this scarey time. Keep your pets inside, play the TV, make a cozy place in the closet if scared. Use common sense today.

Kodie is loving the attention. Eating all his food, moving around and giving head butts and lots of purrs. Meowing for more food! The video is not great but you can see the sweet boy. He knows love and feeling safe. For now that is what we wanted for him.
