Finally done…… didn’t “work” long, but apparently she had a LOT of energy to get out.
Once she was finally good we called it a night….. but boy howdy was she a wild woman tonight 🤣

Someone was channeling her inner dragon tonight. I guess it’s been longer than I realized since she had any kind of workout. 🐲
*She picked the pace.
Her big dragon snorts always make me laugh. She only does this after we haven’t worked for a while. Took a solid 10 minutes to get all the yayas out 🤣🤦♀️

I am just so incredibly proud of this little mule ❤️
I don’t care how long it has taken us to get here. We got here.
Over the years KM and I have spent together I was growing to accept that she would never have “Chance moments” [IFYKYK] but she (once again) proved me wrong, and I couldn’t be more happy about it.
I knew it was in there, she has always protected and kept me safe on the trail — even at her wildest. The arena has been a different story, but our struggles are more about proper communication between human and equine than anything else.
For those of you that have met her and saw her and her skepticism in the very beginning; you know what a big deal this is.
All I can say is:Time, patience and consistency will get you there as long as you are humble enough to listen to your equine when they are trying to tell you something. I have had to compromise a lot, I have had to give when she is communicating that she is done. I had to learn her limits and do my best not to try and push past them —- when I have pushed, she pushes back and her push back is not something you really want to fight against.
Find joy in the win.
No matter how long it takes to get it or find it. Take join in it and celebrate it, even if it might seem small to others. Celebrate it for yourself and your hard work.

Fast as fast can be! You’ll never catch me! 🤣
Accidentally had the @gopro on super speed…… so please enjoy this lightning fast video of KM and I doing a little baby cross country course.
Brought my princess some Christmas apples……. One of her MOST favorite snacks.
Pony mafia showed up to see if they could get in on the apple action…… but her majesty doesn’t share 🤣🤷♀️
She just stood munching her tasty snack and giving her minions the angry ears. 🤣

OMG..... so much SLOBBER!!!!!!
Is anyone else dealing with waterfall mouth?
At least she doesn't hold onto it and then let loose over my head like Chance always did 🤣🤷♀️
Guess that's one more perk to her small stature 🤣🤣🤣
This mule ❤
Can't thank Elizabeth Wallace ( Fox Run Farm Dressage & Eventing ) enough for all of her help with our journey!
To see how relaxed KM is now is nothing short of amazing!

Lessoning through the storm
Kinzie Mae and I are learning new things.
Miss Mae has shown some promise for western Dressage..... so this old dog is learning some new tricks 🤣
Originally, I had wanted to teach KM how to barrel race, because that is something I have been competing in since I was around 8 years old. I have previously been blessed with several excellent barrel horses and one very bold barrel pony; who all took me as far as I wanted to go.
I have always been of the mindset that my equine partner must love what we do, and if they don't then we should be doing something different.
Kinzie and I love to compete in the halter ring and do in-hand work, so we will continue to compete in that event for as long and to whatever level as long it remains fun for both of us. To date she has shown ZERO interest in the "games" that I spent a lifetime playing; so unless something changes my barrel "career" ended when I lost my gelding, Chance. Kinzie does seem to really love the work we are doing with Elizabeth Wallace ( Fox Run Farm Dressage & Eventing ) , so she might make a (western) Dressage rider out of me yet 🤣. Besides, Kinzie LOVES trail rides which is really all I ever ask of my equines. I show for something to work towards, I trail ride because there is nothing I love doing more.
These are all pictures from our last lesson and it was STORMING ⛈⛈ I am so proud of how well Kinz handled the chaos! The very last picture is us standing facing the rain and the mucky end of the arena and I am trying to convince her that storms and mud are nothing to be afraid of.
Lord I love this smart and challenging mule ❤
I don't know what it is about my friend @dontcallmepipes , but the animals LOVE her.
It never fails that when she comes to the barn KM cannot leave her..... it is ridiculous and amusing.
So when she joins me at the barn it never fails.... this is the only way I can get any work done with KM 🤦♀️🤣
