Betty rebel had a in-home session today because we were supposed to do a session at rural King and the owner had issues even getting her out of the house and into the car. She is a 7 month-old bully and when she decides she doesn't want to do anything her muscle is her power. So I had to work with the owner on using brain over muscle. We taught her to release for some pressure but also made getting in and out of the car a very exciting playful time. She's definitely scared in the car and it takes quite a bit of coaching to get her up there. She'll work on this for the next few weeks before we do a session at the beginning of January. They had purchased one of our packages for the six sessions meeting us. But we can sometimes modify that to do an in-home session to help with issues like this.

Sorry if I haven't got back to you. I have been sick in bed all day today. It seems there might be a flu going around.

Chicago and Cairo had a session today at rural King. We decided to train them with the cart how to walk together and separately with a cart. Their owners are really enjoying taking them to pet friendly stores and they really love having well behaved dogs. They've made a lot of improvement in their training. Both were reactive when they saw other dogs and got over excited over each other's attention. We also worked on calling one dog while making the other dog stay and a little more on focused heel.

Did you know that the owner Leah has five certifications in dog training? I've even had a wonderful mentor named Doctor Mary Bell Aldmen. She is the complete German Shepherd dog handbook author. She was a master dog trainer and it was amazing to watch her in her 90s still out on the sheep herding field with her dogs.

We offer private classes meeting us. These classes help with social skills and teaching basic obedience in a public setting.

In your home sessions in the Clarksville area. These sessions where we teach basic obedience in your home while also covering behavioral issues such as counter surfing, door darting, chewing and potty training.

We are currently looking for a spot that we can teach our basic obedience group classes. With the weather we always have to cut out our classes in the winter time. But we're hoping to find a location soon where we can teach through the winter some basic obedience group classes. These are great for puppies to learn social skills and basic obedience.

Board and train. This is where your dog will stay with us to receive the training in our home and then we transition them back to you when they complete their training. We have a two-week program, a 30-day program, a 6-week program and even an 8-week service dog program.

We even have a free program for disabled people who need a service dog. We work with train a dog save a warrior aka tadsaw. We've worked with this non-profit 501c3 organization since 2012. With this program we work with owners with their dog and train with you twice a week until your dog completes all the required training to become a service dog. This is a positive reinforcement organization your dog must pass a strict temperament test and be over the age of 15 months old and be spayed and neutered to be entered in this program.

I worked with 10 service dogs today and did not take one picture I can't believe that. All the teams are doing good and right on track we had a few that couldn't make it today. With Train A Dog Save A Warrior our teams meet twice a week to train for an hour until their dogs complete the required program criteria. I have trained over 300 teams with this organization since 2012. If you are needing a service dog this is a 501c3 non-profit organization who will help you accomplish your goals with your dog becoming a service dog. Check out their page or their website for more information and to receive an application you can give Bart Sherwood a call at 210 - 643-2901. Dogs must be over 15 months old and already spayed or neutered up to date on shots and friendly and social with people and dogs and must pass our temperament test.

Today I had my first in home session with tails. The first 6 months after they found him he was sweet and so well behaved with the kids and them. And lately tails has resorted to showing food aggression and resource guarding of the couch in the bed. He has bitten the kids and the husband so we are working on learning his signals his triggers and teaching him when he's uncomfortable with the children sitting on the couch next to him for him to get up and walk away instead of being snappy with the kids. He didn't show us a whole lot of naughty behavior today his greeting of me was not very friendly but we worked through that after I put him on a leash. He wasn't too fond of treats but he definitely liked the sausage that we used from their breakfast. We worked on a few commands like watch me, leave it, sit, off and down. We're going to do our sessions kind of tightly together so that we can nip this in the butt and he is also being scheduled to be neutered as soon as the vet can fit him in.

Indy had his first training session with us today. Now that the weather is nasty we're meeting at rural King. He did very well for his first class his owner has worked very hard on his leash walking and social skills and his basic sit down stay. We advance some of that training and also taught him watch me and leave it and worked a little bit on heel position. He is a German Shepherd Cane Corso mix that he had rescued from cheatham county animal control. I think he hit the jackpot with this one this dog has the brains the looks and everything to go with it.
