Bear and Nala had a session at rural King today. We worked on their sit and down stay and with the owner being able to have both dogs healing beside her walking past other dogs and people. They are doing great on their automatic sit when the owner stops the dog sit at a heel beside her. They were super excited to see me and started looking for me as soon as they got out of the car. They love their training days. Remember train don't complain!

Working with nunu the service dog today. We had to pull all the trucks out of the training bag today. We found a way to get her focus heel. She is still a puppy and looses focus quickly. She becomes bored and shut down so we always have to find new ways to motivate her to continue to work.

Today while waiting on a class I got to see a dog I trained in 2015. This is Davis. She did training and doggie daycare with us and I haven't seen her in years. She remembered me and still is a very obedient well-behaved girl. I was crying happy tears getting to see Miss Davis after many years of not seeing her and she still remembered me and was so happy to show me her skills so she could get a few treats. It said watching our dogs get older and gray and they all have touched my heart in many different ways. Davis was one of the first boykin spaniels that I ever trained. She was so smart and willing and eager to please me. She was friendly and social with all the dogs and enjoyed playing with them so much. Here's a few pictures of when she was with us training and doing daycare. And the first picture was her today. Thank you for letting me love Davis for all these years.

Nelson had his second session today at rural King. We worked on his come commands and his heel and stays with the owners doing the work and me instructing. He did very well today we definitely have to work more with him coming to the man owner being a rescue we can sometimes see that there was not such a great reaction. Because of past history. When the wife and I would call him to come he would come exciting and happy. When the husband would call him to come he was hesitant and he would stop just shy of the owner and lower his head like he was going to be snatched up or smacked which is definitely something he's probably encountered with his past owners. The biggest mistake owners make when owning breeds that like to run such as Huskies is they get so frustrated and upset over playing the game of catch me if you can that they get physical when they actually catch the dog or when the dog comes to them. That is the biggest mistake that you can make come should always be a fun and exciting want to do more than anything else behavior. We play a lot of games and let him run around and have fun after they finish their commands so that they want to come to us every time.

Lily is going home from her 30 days board and train. When we picked up Lily the owners had only had her for 2 weeks they bought her from a breeder as a 6-month-old puppy. And it was clear that she hadn't had much socialization. She was a little snippy when meeting new people. Now we can take her into rural King and she will socialize and visit with people when she is asked. She is potty trained and does all of her basic obedience commands, this girl has really been a joy to have in my house. French bulldogs are known for being cuddly and loving but a little stubborn Lily doesn't have much of the stubborn streak. Like I said she has been a real pleasure!

Nelson had his first session today at rural King. He was adopted from Robertson county animal control 5 weeks ago. We found out this boy was actually very well trained. There's a few things that he still needs some work on but we worked on watch me, leave it, sit, down, stay, heel. He did very well and is highly food motivated which is unusual for a husky. But it helped us get more accomplished with him in a 1-hour session.

Namari just finished up a session at rural King. She's training to be a therapy dog and it only 5 months old she is already picking everything up amazingly. Today we taught her decompression technique putting her chin on your leg so that you can pet her when she's working. She also worked on stay while her owner went out of sight because that's been a little difficult for her lately. She loved my beef lung treats I finally ordered some more like doggy crack they'll do anything for it.

Oh my gosh I'm in love. This is Max he is a beautiful 8 week old miniature Australian Shepherd he is a red and white tricolor one of my favorites. Today he learned no bite, sit, down, we started leash training and leave it. We also worked with the older dog in the home who is a little nervous with those puppy teeth and has become a little snippy and we worked with her barking at people approaching the door.

Namari had a rough training session today. We've done three sessions at rural King and one in home session and she has been on point 100% doing wonderful on watch me, leave it, sit, down, stay, off, loosely walking and her heel. Today she just was not having it showed a little bit of anxiety and separation anxiety when her owner went out of site. It just wasn't like her. Sometimes I'll see this behavior on our third or fourth training session. But also the owner had went on vacation and had a pet sitter watching her and then had the flu when she got back from vacation so it could be a little bit of that but when she said she had enough we ended our session there with lots of love praise and attention. We will meet again next week and see if she is back on track.

Belle is going home today from her 6-week board and train. This girl was reactive towards people and dogs, pulled on the leash like crazy, didn't know very many obedience commands. She was a very insecure dog who still needs continued training which we will work with the owners to keep it going. She has made a lot of progress. This is a video of her walking loose leash through rural King by people and dogs. We only had one reaction and it was towards a forklift. She's enjoying her piggier while we head to go give her a bath and get her ready to go home.

Coco had her third session at rural King today. She has really become a social butterfly this once finished puppy now love to say hello to everybody. We also worked on her reactivity towards the room which turns out to be a fear response. And we discussed with the owner about doing household chores and dinner etc while working on stay so she does it with distractions. Coco is getting spayed so when she's done healing up from that we will continue her training.
