I worked with 10 service dogs today and did not take one picture I can't believe that. All the teams are doing good and right on track we had a few that couldn't make it today. With Train A Dog Save A Warrior our teams meet twice a week to train for an hour until their dogs complete the required program criteria. I have trained over 300 teams with this organization since 2012. If you are needing a service dog this is a 501c3 non-profit organization who will help you accomplish your goals with your dog becoming a service dog. Check out their page or their website for more information and to receive an application you can give Bart Sherwood a call at 210 - 643-2901. Dogs must be over 15 months old and already spayed or neutered up to date on shots and friendly and social with people and dogs and must pass our temperament test.

Today I had my first in home session with tails. The first 6 months after they found him he was sweet and so well behaved with the kids and them. And lately tails has resorted to showing food aggression and resource guarding of the couch in the bed. He has bitten the kids and the husband so we are working on learning his signals his triggers and teaching him when he's uncomfortable with the children sitting on the couch next to him for him to get up and walk away instead of being snappy with the kids. He didn't show us a whole lot of naughty behavior today his greeting of me was not very friendly but we worked through that after I put him on a leash. He wasn't too fond of treats but he definitely liked the sausage that we used from their breakfast. We worked on a few commands like watch me, leave it, sit, off and down. We're going to do our sessions kind of tightly together so that we can nip this in the butt and he is also being scheduled to be neutered as soon as the vet can fit him in.

Indy had his first training session with us today. Now that the weather is nasty we're meeting at rural King. He did very well for his first class his owner has worked very hard on his leash walking and social skills and his basic sit down stay. We advance some of that training and also taught him watch me and leave it and worked a little bit on heel position. He is a German Shepherd Cane Corso mix that he had rescued from cheatham county animal control. I think he hit the jackpot with this one this dog has the brains the looks and everything to go with it.

Presley is going home from his 2 weeks board and train. This little spunky boy has definitely brought some laughs to our house. He is a character like his owner said. He has some behaviors that I consider naughty but the owner enjoys them so he asked me not to modify them. Such as his jumping he can jump higher than your face. He needs to do some agility or something cuz he could fly over some jumps let me tell you. We definitely worked on his barking and his obedience. Still a little iffy with his stays but with our two week program everything is considered on leash so he is right where he should be mentality wise for his age and his amount of training.

Daisy went home from her 30-day board and train. We had taken her to work on her fear issues and leash walking and her biggest issue was the overexcitement in the home thinking it's a playground for her and being overbearing with the elderly dog she lives with. She did wonderful coming home and I gave the owners some tools to work on until we do our follow-up session on Monday. She responded really well to stop and play going to her place and reading the other dog's body language when they've had enough. I'm really happy with her progress over the last 30 days and will continue to work with the owners to make sure Daisy becomes the most successful well-behaved. At 8 months old she is still a very big puppy and requires a lot of stimulus exercise and play time.

Oliver and Nala had another in home session today. We worked on their gate days where the owner can open the gate and walk to the front yard and the dogs not come through the gate. We worked on desensitizing against the doorbell and knocking and greeting people coming in. We also worked on doorway stay where we can open the front door walk to the mailbox and both dogs stay. We teach a command of come stop and go back inside along with that. The dogs did amazing we were pretty impressed. This was our second in home session

As I was walking Daisy this morning I was stopped by a person one street over because Daisy looks so much like her dog that she just lost last week. I see these dogs every single day as I walk dogs they typically are reactive at the fence so it helps me work with dogs on the leash. It also makes them settle down when the dogs I'm working with are calm and relaxed and not reactive. She stopped me to tell me that her dog was poisoned with rat poison. Somebody threw a box of pelleted rat poison in her yard. She has two dogs that were siblings and the mail got into the majority of it. Within 10 minutes of him coming inside he went paralyzed they rushed him to the vet and found out he was poisoned so they went home and got the other dog to make sure that one wasn't poisoned also. They immediately started emergency care unfortunately the male didn't make it. Now she walks in her yard before she even lets her dogs go out to go potty. That scares me that somebody in my neighborhood poisoned a dog. I definitely will be reviewing camera footage regularly and we are setting up more cameras. Her yard is exposed to a main road my yard is not but it definitely still makes me very nervous that somebody would be so sick to do this in my neighborhood. It can happen in any neighborhood where there are sick people everywhere. But I'm glad she informed me because now I will take extra precautions to make sure this never happens. I don't leave dogs outside they go out to go potty play for short periods supervised and come back in.

Daisy is going home. This is our last morning walk. This girl was so nervous and scared when she came it. Now she is confident and happy.
