Come out to pet smart and meet our adoptable cats & kittens!!!
Just another return after being adopted over a year ago. So afraid she keeps pooping constantly. So afraid she hisses at everything. Wants to attack everything.
Our applications ALWYSS ask what will you do with the pet when you move and everyone answers take it with me! Of course I’ll only rent with places that accept pets. Of course I’ll keep them for their 20+ year life span!!
But sadly a lot end up returned. Confused and scared. They’d rather move with their people than be returned and not know what’s going on. She will take a lot of work now to calm down and hopefully we pray she does and can be adopted out again. But so many never calm down and they never adjust after being returned.
Adoption is a 20+ year commitment. Please keep that in mind when adopting. Thank you
Happy 8 year anniversary to the rescue and the kittens that started it all!!
Mind you we had always been animal lovers, and Jessica always brought random animals home, squirrels, birds, cats, dogs, a goat. But these 4 kittens in a milk crate jump started the rescue.
One of the best, but also most stressful, but rewarding things to happen to us in life. We have saved and rescued and placed over 5,000 cats and kittens in their forever home since then.
The puppy, is Gracie, she helped raise the babies, and cleaned them, the little black bean I kept as well, midnight. Both are happy and healthy! Fun fact, our rescue dog, Dolce, actually produced milk and nursed the kittens 🥹
🩷ADOPTED🩷 Volume up on our two “sisters” who are looking for their forever home. These sweet babies are at Petsmart until 5pm. Come meet them, you won’t regret it 🥰😻
This post is NOT to shame anyone. But to show what pets go through when returned to either a rescue/shelter/rehomed or worse abandoned.
Speck was returned to us due to no fault of his own. His owners sadly had to return him due to a PCS to Germany, and they had 2 doggos.
Speck was fine at first, but after a few minutes he was stressed and scared. He turned “feral” and it took 3 of us to get him in the kennel. He’s now decompressing and allows pets and love again but is confused.
Speck isn’t the only one. Enoki, who took a few months to not be “feral” lunging, biting, attacking. Kiki who came around quicker. Then there was Bentley who took close to half a year to calm down. Smokey, who lost her mother after she passed, and is still scared and frightened. There’s so many just like speck.
We know life changed and circumstances change. But when they’re adopted and in the same home, that’s all they know. They become scared and frightened. Just like many dogs at the shelter, who are then deemed unadoptable and sadly euthanized.
Please stop adopting and getting pets if you cannot commit to the rest of their life. It takes forever for them to decompress and sometimes they don’t and sadly that’s when hard decisions need to be made.
Once speck settles down he will be available for adoption. We have to get his vetting updated. But he won’t be able to go to events, he doesn’t do well with change. He will need a patient home, who will understand he may lash out the first day, but it’s because he’s scared. Once this boy comes around he loves the love.
He’s good with dogs, and kids. Of course proper introductions will need to be had. That’s with any new pet though. He also loves the chin scratches and belly rubs.
Our fosters are enjoying their kittens. This could be you, if you signed up to foster 🥹

February has been cleared by the vet. He no longer has a UTI and he is healthy and happy again!!
He is looking for his forever home. If you’re in the Hendersonville TN area and you’re interested in a lovable cuddly, FIV, non aggressive boy. Go visit him!!
He gets along great with other cats. He does need yearly vet visits. But FIV is NOT a death sentence and can co habitat with other cats regardless if they have FIV or not.
If you have questions about FIV let us know! We’d be happy to answer them.

All of these babies have been returned so far this year. Most adopted out between 2019 - 2022. Some found as strays after being abandoned. Some adopted out then returned a week or two later 🥹 #rescue #rescueanimals #catlife #catoftheday #catloversclub #catrescue
