Dr. Loeffler had these two sweet pups in today to see her. Glinda and Kosmo are up for adoption with Furever Tails Rescue. These two were so much fun today. They are incredibly affectionate, they walked perfectly on a leash, just wonderful pups. We hope they will be adopted soon to wonderful families.

Cool cat Friday!😸

This is one of our newest kittens Mia, she is a Cornish Rex. This breed is sometimes referred to as the “Greyhound of the cats”, because of their sleek appearance and their characteristic galloping run. She did great for her first exam with Dr. Loeffler and we look forward to seeing her grow!

Late Monday evening Dr. Newland received a call from our rescue friends. There was a young kitty in desperate need of an emergency leg amputation. Inky was apparently attacked by a dog with her bone sticking out of her leg for an unknown of time. She had such a severe infection and in such horrible pain with this. The emergency vet stabilized her and she was brought to us Tuesday morning. Dr. Newland and our wonderful technicians removed her back leg and this morning she was doing amazing. She was already moving around, eating like crazy, and purring. We are so happy to have helped this sweet girl and we hope she finds the most perfect forever home. She has had so much trauma and deserves the best. Once she is healed up she will be available for adoption with Rejoyceful Animal Rescue.

A client found this dog outside of Somerset Park Apartments in Troy. Young black and white female husky with blue eyes, roughly 35-40lbs. No collar or microchip.

Attention to any of our clients who travel outside of the US (specifically, to Canada) with their dogs! The requirements for re-entry into the USA with your dog are changing as of August 1! You will now be required to present a health certificate (NOT just a rabies certificate) from a USDA accredited veterinarian prior to coming back into the country.

What this means for you: if you travel to Canada (or any other country) with your dog, please reach out to our office ASAP. We will counsel you on the requirements for the health certificate, and what we need to do to make sure your pet won't have any issues crossing the border.

It can take 28 days or more for the health certificate to become valid, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us sooner rather than later if you have any international travel planned!

Please be patient with our staff as we navigate the new requirements - this is a CDC procedural change and requirement that is new to all of us, and we will do our best to help facilitate the paperwork as efficiently as we can!
