The first thing I teach our dogs is “Stand Stay” & I start this as soon as possible. Why? Because when you present your dog to a Judge at a Dog Show they are examined and must stay in proper position for the exam. This is Bagheera and I focusing on feet placement & just staying in position. (9 months old in this video) I’m not concerned about her head movement & I’m not trying to bait her forward just yet; I’m focusing on two things and that’s her being comfortable and her feet staying in position & as she gradually learns, we introduce the next step.

Whether you show your dog or just want a well mannered companion dog at home.. train in steps! You can’t give a first grader a senior test & expect them to pass it. Set your dog up to succeed by training in short, step-by-step, sessions with a high value reward! 💙 Remember to be patient & work at the dogs pace, not yours.

Mother Fox & her kits! 🦊

A beautiful sight this morning as this red fox family makes an appearance! 🦊 It is SPRING! Which means, many species are having young. Have a look at this beautiful Red Fox family. Foxes will often den close to homes in effort to keep her kits safe and away from predators. I would guess these kits are roughly 5-6 weeks old and beginning to explore outside the den. Mama will now teach them how to find food & survive for the next few months. By the time summer arrives the kits will be old enough to leave the den and venture off on their own!
