Please be nice to us the rescuers. We are the reason why your next pet is alive today.......no really, it's true.

If you think we have a cat that looks like yours. Please email and WAIT.....we have a whole big life we live and will get back to you ASAP.

You MUST know the s*x, age, where the animal went missing and IF the info lines up with what we know we will schedule a meet. Please keep in mind that after thirty days we own the animal, so it's best if you work with us politely. Also note if we altered a cat.....we KNOW the s*x (for sure). Please do not blow up our social media because you think this is a emergency, or rude statements or accusations on our social media page because that is an unacceptable way to communicate with us, we don't do drama and this would be classified as drama.

Please note, if you call us names or question our good intentions with the animals, (since we're the ones that have saved them and sheltered them for many months too many years) we will sever conversations with you. It's that simple. We do not get paid enough (or really anything at all) to be your emotional punching bag.

Rescuers give their free time to rescue these animals and it's not our job to cater to your every whim.......and Yes, sometimes you have to wait. We are usually taking care of all the other animals that were facing death before we can get back to your email. Your crisis is not an entitlement to be rude.
When you come at us entitled, with sketchy information, the information keeps changing, or you bombard us with multiple emails, comments etc. What do you think will happen. This does nothing to make us work any faster because at the end of the day, It's not because we're reading your stuff and not responding, it's because we can't respond yet...... Our freaking hands are full.

It's classless to encourage your friends to jump in or to talk smack on other platforms. I can assure you we will hundred percent back away from you....... We don't have time for that.

There is no place on this earth that I will allow abuse, rude statements or comments like, " you certainly must not care about the animals finding good homes" to be thrown at us because you are unclear about the animal you lost. I don't care how emotional you are, have some respect. We ARE the exact reason the animal is still here.

We will ask you for records and proof of ownership more than a photo since thousands of cats look alike....... Yes thousands and thousands of cats look exactly alike. It does not matter if you have thousands of photos of the same cat, cats look the same. Even.
The shelter will not accept that as proof. But I will say a photo and niceness goes a long way, but I can assure you that a photo and rudeness does not.

Unfortunately , throughout the years we have had to sever ties with multiple people who claim they own an animal which they cannot prove, facts do not line up, or they are repeat offenders. We are not Starbucks and we are not here to make the people happy, we are here to make sure these animals get the best home. When you treat us like trash we do not want to adopt our precious animals to you.

I want to point out that we have given many many cats back even long after the strayhold was up and we legally own the animal. We have actually not asked for reimbursement at some of those times either. We do this because people tend to wait too long and for other reasons that I will never understand.

But the fact remains we gave a cat back just two weeks ago with similar circumstances. The facts lined up, the people were nice, it all made sense and there you go.

If we sever communication there is a damn good reason. There's a lot of negativity in the world right now and we are not interested in anyone's drama.

Meet Pip, a joyful 10-month-old terrier mix who is ready for his forever home after overcoming a challenging start in life. Rescued from the streets of Vallejo, Pip has spent the last few months in foster care, where he has learned what it means to feel safe and loved.

Pip is fully potty trained, although he may lift his leg occasionally due to being neutered a bit later. He is great with kids, displaying a gentle, playful, and patient demeanor. His affectionate nature allows him to bond quickly with people, and while he enjoys the company of other dogs, he thrives as the center of attention.

This resilient pup simply wants a family to call his own, one that will provide the kindness and devotion he deserves. If you're interested in adopting Pip, you can apply at www.ebarr.org. Let’s help him find his happily ever after! Please share this message to connect Pip with his perfect forever family.

It was the dogs. The dogs are what got me.

A few years ago we visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum, and we saw a lot. Twisted steel girders. Baby-faced portraits of the deceased. Mutilated emergency vehicles.

But it was the dogs that wrecked me.

The dog exhibit is pretty small. Located in the far corner of the museum, with photographs of search and rescue dogs.

You see dogs nosing through rubble, wearing safety harnesses. You see them in their prime. They’re all deceased now. But they were spectacular.

There was Riley. Golden retriever. He was trained to find living people. But, he didn’t find any. Instead, he recovered the remains of firefighters. Riley kept searching for a live survivor, but found none. Riley’s morale tanked.

“I tried my best to tell Riley he was doing his job,” said his handler. “He had no way to know that when firefighters and police officers came over to hug him, and for a split second you can see them crack a smile—that Riley was succeeding at doing an altogether different job. He provided comfort. Or maybe he did know.”

There was Coby and Guiness. Black and yellow Labs. From California. Surfer dogs. They found dozens of human remains.

And Abigail. Golden Lab. Happy. Energetic. Committed. Big fan of bacon.

Sage. A border collie. Cheerful. Endless energy. Her first mission was searching the Pentagon wreckage after the attacks. She recovered the body of the terrorist who piloted American Airlines Flight 77.

Jenner. Black Lab. At age 9, he was one of the oldest dogs on the scene. Jenner’s handler, Ann Wichmann, remembers:

“It was 12 to 15 stories high of rubble and twisted steel. My first thought was, ‘I can't send Jenner into that…’ At one point, [Jenner] disappeared down a hole under the rubble and I was like, ‘Ugggggh!' Such a heart-stopping moment..."

Trakr. German Shepherd. Tireless worker. Worked until he couldn’t stand up anymore. Trakr found Genelle Guzman-McMillan, who was trapped for 27 hours among the debris. Genelle was as good as dead, until the cold nose poked through the mangled steel.

Apollo. German shepherd. An NYPD police dog. Coal-black muzzle. Liquid eyes. The first dog on the scene, only 15 minutes after the attacks. Apollo worked 18-hour days. Once, he was nearly killed in a fire during his search. But Apollo had been drenched in water and he was quick on his feet. No injuries.

Jake. Labrador. As a puppy, Jake was found on the side of the road in Dallas. Abandoned. Left for dead. Like trash. He had a dislocated hip and a broken leg. They made him a rescue dog.

Jake worked until his body threatened to collapse from exhaustion. After his shifts, local New York merchants saw his rescue-dog vest and treated him to free steak dinners in upscale Manhattan restaurants.

And, of course, there was Bretagne. Golden Retriever. Easygoing. Dutiful. Obsessed with food. Her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss, a firefighter from Harris County, Texas, brought Bretagne to Ground Zero while the rubble was still hot.

Bretagne went straight to work. She worked for 10 days solid. Ten agonizing days. Bretagne never quit. She napped onsite.

Denise recalls: “...There are images of Bretagne going to where she was directed to search, into the unknown, the chaotic environment. But even then, she knew who needed the comfort of a dog, and which firefighter needed to hold her close and stroke her fur.”

After 9/11, Bretagne also helped recovery efforts during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and Ivan. She retired at age 9.

Old age finally overtook her, she had a hard time using stairs, so Denise installed an above-ground pool to keep Bretagne’s joints limber.

In retirement, Bretagne became a reading dog at a local elementary school. First graders, too shy to read aloud, would read to a white-faced, elderly retriever who looked them in the eyes and smiled.

Bretagne visited students with special needs. She visited students with autism. She visited everyone.

She suffered kidney failure at age 16. She was put to sleep on June 7, 2016, and became the last of the 9/11 rescue dogs to end her earthly career.

Bretagne hobbled into the Cypress, Texas, animal hospital, one sunny Monday, only to discover the sidewalks and hallways were lined with firefighters, first responders, and rescue workers who saluted her.

Her remains were later escorted from the hospital, draped in an American flag.

We do not deserve dogs.

Ity Bity Hermey has a very big story to tell you.

It started off by a lady walking in her neighbourhood for exercise, during this walk she heard a tiny baby cry. The source of the cry was quickly located and it was down a storm drain about ten feet. The reality started setting in on how did this little baby kitten get in there, and how the heck was the little baby kitten going to get out of there, and then......who she could call to get some assistance. ☎️

Many phone calls 📱 were made to
The police dept 🚔 the sheriff dispatcher 🚔, with promises that somebody would come to assist. And then another phone call was made to an animal rescuer. The only ones that showed up were the animal rescuers.
They came with their nets, thry came with their leashes turning them into ropes, and they came with their cans the cat food, and they came with their "can do" attitude and never give up to save a baby crying ten feet down the storm drain. 🦸‍♂️ 🦸‍♀️

They put all their heads together and figured out how to get that baby out, and they did........get that baby out........ Because that is the only option, animal rescuers are often underestimated, but we never give up and we climb horrendous mountains ⛰️ to take care of animals. The baby was gone and well on its way to recovery when finally after the fifth phone call to dispatch.....and over 2 hours of waiting, a very nice gentleman from Public works showed up. We offered to help him put back the grate, but he said , oh no , this thing is way too heavy for you guys.........lol. 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪 💪 hummmmmmm.

Little baby Hermey has been fed, de-flead and de-wormed....... and is no longer ten feet down a storm drain screaming for food. He is sleeping in a cozy little kennel with everything he needs. We are guessing he's about six weeks old.

We would love it if you could support us and our work. We never give up, and sometimes we muster the strength of many men......lol 💪 to accomplish our goals...... while others sit around and try to figure liability out....... We are well on our way to success.

Please please donate to Hermey's medical fund and all the little itty bity babies that maybe crying for help that will come after him.

Ways to donate:
If we could get 50 people to donate 10.00 each. We will give one lucky winner one of our new long sleeved T-shirts for your to wear to all your animal rescuing adventures, or just when you're sitting around the house. Either way it's a win win for our animals.

Where did her ear go?

Update on Grizelda.
Remember our 4ish year old girl that was suffering from extreme neglect. We are slowly making progress.
She had her 1st surgery on 8/22/25 and there was a slight complication and she had to stay at the vet a bit longer than expected.
She went to her is foster home for medical recovery.
9/8/25 Was her recheck, and original
Sutures were removed and she is healing well. She was given more pain meds for other ear and is ready for second surgery next week on 9/16/25. These surgeries are so intense, she must heal in between each one.......sad because this was a hundred percent preventable.

These medical babies take a considerable amount of time and a deep dedication by the foster parent to constantly drive back and forth and get them inch by inch to the road to better health, medicate them and take care of them on a daily basis. If you remember this is a 💯 percent preventable and all it would have taken was an owner that cared and took their dog to a doctor to receive some annabiotics for an ear infection. The fact that so many people don't care once they purchase 💰 🤑 💸 a frenchy makes me sick.

Another rescue was able to financially help with this situation as there was no way we could have covered this bill. That rescue is Stitch in Time Rescue rin by our good friemd Len Welsh and we would like all donations to go directly to them.

Happy 7th birthday to Rhino. We made it to the senior years thank the lord. Alot of blood (mine, literally), sweat and tears went into this dog. Alot of money, stress and pivoting went into this dog. He has been my ultimate challenge of my rescue career.

I've had to build him a solitary confinement to keep him and my hands safe at times. He is untrainable, and is not allowed in boarding. And before you think you know more than me, there are dogs like this. Certain people choose to make the best life for dogs like them at much sacrifice to our personal lives.

And why do I have this dog, because a coworker of mine LIED. "If you help us with him, I promise ill do whatever it takes blah blah blah.............. Then a short time later........(enter excuse here).
This is not okay, in actions like this are not ok
People do this to rescuers constantly and use emotional blackmail to get their responsibilities pushed on to a rescuer is NOT okay.

I will ALWAYS defend the doggie!!!!!
And I will never sugar coat anything,
If you're a crappy person, you're a crappy person it's that simple..... And I believe it will catch up with you in the end.

Rhino is a lifer at Ebarr.org for extensive medical issues and extensive behavioral issues, And I've loved this guy from day 1. His behavior is finally downshifted, and he has learned to be a little calmer.
He is 58% bulldog
And 27% pitty
And the rest is loving and attitude.

If you would like to help sponsor rhino and his care journey please go to our website at Ebarr.org
Find the sponsorship area and click on him or any other pet you like. We have send my long list of animals that need sponsoring, or even more sponsoring than we have currently for each animal. Sponsoring is a great way to help and say you care about an animal without having to take care of them on a daily basis. In Rhino's case, trust me you don't want that responsibility.

Happy birthday big guy.

Ollie, a little Orchard Pup with a Whole Lot of Love!

Ollie is a 7-month-old terrier mix who’s already come such a long way. Found all alone in an orchard with no human experience, this sweet little survivor is now learning the joys of belly rubs, cozy naps, and being loved.

✨ Almost fully potty trained
✨ Couch snuggler extraordinaire
✨ Loves other dogs (they’re his mentors and playmates)
✨ A little shy at first, but warms up quickly with patience and kindness
✨ Needs another friendly dog in the home to help him continue building confidence

And here’s the fun part—Ollie has a wild side too! He loves climbing trees (yes, really!) and chasing squirrels and birds like a true little explorer.

A round of applause for Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Peppercorn, Gracie, Luna, and Guinevere—all off to start their happily-ever-afters.

Our little Ninja Turtle trio—Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael—pulled off the ultimate team mission: they all went home together! Their adopters came for two, but couldn’t resist bringing the third brother along. We couldn’t be happier for them.
