A last-minute rescue to close out our weekend.
Even though I’ve been sick and trying to recover, a neighbor’s post stopped me in my tracks she was giving away three kittens for free. As many of you know, we are broke… scraping together every penny just to care for the animals already in our rescue. But when babies are in danger, saying no just isn’t an option.
She explained that she had been feeding the kittens and their mom in her garage, but she was genuinely terrified of cats and couldn’t keep them there any longer. Her 92-year-old mother had been helping too, but they simply couldn’t keep up. This was already the mom’s third litter, and some of the previous kittens had tragically passed away from unknown causes.
Even feeling like absolute crud, I knew I wasn’t going to let any more kittens die.
So we drove over and picked them up:
Three tiny kittens and their momma are now safe, warm, and finally off the streets.
We’ll also be helping her get the remaining two cats altered so this heartbreaking cycle ends once and for all.
Rescue is hard, messy, exhausting, and financially draining but these little lives are worth every sacrifice. ❤️🐾
If you’re able, please consider donating. Every little bit helps us continue caring for vulnerable babies like these and gives us the ability to say YES when another life needs saving.
