I had an amazing 2 weeks taking the
Training the Trainers course taught by Jake Biernbaum and Ryan Rose at Pear Tree Ranch.

Thank you Jake and Ryan for putting together such a great course and for all the information(years worth of homework), advice, and support. Also thank you Jake and Stephanie Biernbaum for building and sharing such an amazing facility. Thank you to Emily Marie of Reaching Strides Equine Rehabilitation for teaching us about horse and human biomechanics, you’re a wonderful teacher.

Finding Relaxation in Tighter Yields.

Helping Eliza to slow down and relax through tighter yields.

Building confidence in the trailer, not just loading.

When Eliza was picked up for the feedlot her owner said that they had to herd her into the trailer. She was able to load her okay a few times. But the last time she was hauled she pulled back, reared up, hit her head, and fell down on her side in the trailer. The first time I asked her to put her nose in the trailer, it took about 40 minutes to get her to even look at the trailer. She was so nervous she got a little sweaty. This video shows some of our progress since I’ve been working with her on trailer loading.

You might notice that the right side of Eliza’s butt is swollen in the first video. Then you’ll see drainage in the other videos. Eliza got out and fell on some blacktop, she got a seroma that the vet had to lance. The vet told me to continue working with her since movement would help it drain.

Hi everyone here’s an update on Eliza.
She’s beginning to gain confidence with speed and connecting to my energy(up and down through the gaits.) Eliza’s also gaining confidence through different yields. Along with that she’s beginning to understand that pressure doesn’t always mean to speed up and run faster.

Hi everyone, this is Wally. He’s an 18 yr. old Thoroughbred who is retired from jumping and dressage do to an injury. His new owner’s goal is to do liberty with him. He has been in part time training with me for about a month now. Staying connected while in motion has been the hardest thing for him. As you can see he’s making good progress. This is his first time doing a figure 8 at liberty.

Worming Day 🤗

Eliza Session 17
The tightness in her body showed itself in a more animated way today. She gave a more clear comparison of having her ribs in towards me. Compared to having them away from me.

Eliza Session 16
Wormer prep. The last time Eliza’s owner tried to worm her, the arena sand got wormed instead of her.

She seems to be feeling better. Working on forequarter yields.

Sessions 11, 12, & 13
Eliza got kicked by her pasture mate and she’s a little sore. So I gave her a few easy sessions just to move her around a little.

02/07/2021

This is out of order with Eliza's session sequence. But she did so well yesterday with the farrier I just had to share. Yay no drugs!!!

Not sure if you remember from her intro video. But she had to be sedated to have her feet done, it was also hard to give her that sedation.

Connecting to a plan.

This is Jakson, a 3 year old gelding. He’s been with me for 3 1/2 weeks now. As you can see he’s making some good changes. He’s going to be looking for a new home. He’s not going to get big enough for his owner to ride. If anyone has questions or is interested private message me.

I love how she’s becoming more aware. Everything went so smooth. Short, sweet, easy day.
