Adventurers at Camp Wahoo go on a 4 day, 3 night pack trip. They get to explore new trails far away from our base camp. This years Adventurers rode over Iron Peak to Stafford Creek. They explored the Iron Bear Trail, Bean Creek and Earl Peak getting stunning views of the Cascades, Mt. Stuart, and Mt. Rainier.

Staff packing in the camping gear for hikers going to Lake Anne. Much easier getting your gear there on the back of a mule especially when hiking with children. A great wilderness service and amazing views while working.

Watching this summer’s Wahoo staff getting gear in order, teaching and practicing mule packing, practicing the steps of saddling, listening to the coverage of the training book and just bonding and resting during training week, makes me so proud to be part of the amazing Camp Wahoo. The peak life experience continues.

Rare opportunity to spend your Summer in the Cascade Mountains on horseback. We host an overnight horse camp and outfitter service and we're looking for someone to join our team! We are woman owned and operated. Our camp introduces kids to Western trail riding and mule packing. We aim to foster a respect for the land, no trace practices and a connection to horses and nature. The ideal candidate would be a confident rider who is resourceful and good with children. Room and board included during consecutive work days. Weekend availability preferred. Wake up in the fresh mountain air and join a team that makes a difference in the lives of children and adults alike.

18+
Horse experience
Food handlers permit before hire
Current CPR/first aid before hire
Must pass background check

With Kittitas County moving to Phase 3 allowing gatherings of up to 50, following all the guidelines, social distancing, mask wearing, temperature taking and much more, Camp Wahoo held it's training week and will begin wilderness camps next week. Constantly amazed at the many skills the staff bring and teach every year but also the adaptability of all these great young people

When mom loves Camp Wahoo as much as the daughters, you know we are doing something right. We meaning the people, the horses, the animals of the wilderness...all of it!

While High Country Outfitters has created a lifetime memory for young people attending Camp Wahoo, it is located high in the Wenatchee Nat. Forest because many realize the packing skills taught as the kids head into the wilderness have important historical and life saving value.

Would you like to paint with me this summer? Get in touch then! For the next three weeks I’m working on a community mural at Washington Middle School. I’m invited anyone who wants to help paint to come down and join me between the hours of 10-6, Monday through Friday.
