Watching the mule packers going into North Carolina, getting to those who can’t be reached by vehicles, it makes me so proud that High Country Outfitters and Camp Wahoo along with our forest service officials have offered training in wilderness mule packing to young people. Thank you to Debby Willum and Stacy and Mike Sutton for letting me be a part of the camp for 25 years of teaching packing. Mule packing is so important for keeping our wilderness trails open and now saving hurricane effected lives.
