🐶Our featured Pet of the Week is Harpy. This handsome fella is a four-year-old Heinz 57 Mix. Harpy sports a short, tan coat with a spotted muzzle and authentic brown eyes. Weighing in at 76 pounds, standing 26 inches at the shoulder, he is a sturdy boy!
🦮This handsome fella was surrendered to us when his family was no longer able to properly care for him. Harpy is the type of guy that needs some time before he will trust his human(s). He is very loving, well trained, and very athletic. Harpy loves playing fetch with his trusted adults. He is a bit afraid of children so we think he’d do best in a home with mature folks. In his previous home, he was not socialized with other dogs or cats.
🐾The perfect home for Harpy would be adults only, country life, where he wouldn’t be alarmed of children or strangers. Once you get to know this handsome fella, he is a dreamboat; His sweetness is sure to win your heart. Harpy is very food motivated, which means a continuous training regime and socializing in a controlled environment is recommended and would be very beneficial to him.

Meet Jennifer, a gorgeous 2-year-old calico with a heart as warm as her stunning coat! This sweet mama came to us with a litter of kittens and found comfort in a loving foster home, where she adored spending time with her foster’s young daughter. Jennifer also got along famously with the dogs passing through the foster’s grooming salon, showing her calm, easygoing nature. She’s laid-back, quiet, and has a true love for her people. Jennifer would also do well with another cat, given a proper introduction. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate friend who will fill your days with calm companionship, Jennifer is ready to be your purr-fect match!

November 3-7 is National Animal Shelter appreciation Week. This week is a celebration honoring animal shelters and the people who work in them. How can you celebrate and show your appreciation? Adopt, don’t shop for your next pet. Shelters are bursting at the seams with homeless animals. Let’s be their heroes and help them find homes! If your home is not ready for a new (or another) pet, you can donate. Most shelters in our area are non-profit and depend on donations to continue caring for the animals in their care. Have a couple hours of free time each day, or week? Volunteer at your local shelter. Another, very important way you can help is by fostering. Doing so will help shelter animals find their new home faster. Some fosters need bottle feeding, some just need a spare bedroom and cuddles to understand normalcy. Some need more training or are much too stressed to stay in the shelter. Each animal has their own needs and personality. We could really use your help in fostering. Recently, we had a mother cat give birth to kittens at the shelter. New born kittens and their mom would highly benefit from a foster home. Please, please, please reach out to us if you are interested, or have questions about fostering. Wouldn’t you love to snuggle a cute kitten like this one?

Meet Theo, the bashful 10-month-old Aussie mix with a heart full of potential! Weighing 43 pounds and standing about 20 inches tall, this gentle soul is still learning to come out of his shell. Theo is a little on the timid side, but with a patient and loving human, he’s sure to blossom into the loyal and playful companion he’s meant to be. He’d love to have a doggy sibling to help show him the ropes and boost his confidence. With time, treats, and plenty of belly rubs, Theo will turn into your faithful shadow, ready to take on the world by your side!
