Providing horseback riding lessons, trail rides and more... Pistner's Muddy Acres Farm LLC is located in the northeastern end of Clearfield, Pa.
Tucked down in Brown Hollow named for a former resident of Milton Brown this farm gets its name from the ample amount of water and clay soil that it sits upon. The owners of the land through the years have ditched and landscaped it to make it what it is today. We still use the Muddy Acres name since it was given to the land by our business owner, Lynnette Pistner's grandfather back in the late 70'
s. Lets talk about the owner...
Lynnette Pistner has owned, trained, bred, rode and shown horses all of her life. Starting out with a black Appaloosa mare, Echo, that her grandfather gifted her when Lynnette was born. We still have Echo's descendants on the farm today. Lynnette has had the dream of having a business on the farm for many years. She has wanted to have a way of combining her love of teaching and horses together. This new business that opened in July 2023 makes that happen. Lynnette loves to teach and has been a Girl Scout leader and volunteer for over 20 years. She has also mentored and advised for other organizations through her years. We look forward to meeting you and letting you experience and learn about horses. Our lessons focus not just on riding but the whole horse and building up a persons horsemanship. "You have to know the horse before you can ride the horse"

Fun fact the Stiner homestead is just over the hill from Pistner's Muddy Acres Farm LLC.

Night full of lessons!
I often ask students if they feel accomplished or what did they learn during a session. Tonight alot of accomplishments were made. Mulisha stated that riding independently was better then her video game levels she beats. Goals 🎉😁
So what's going on in this picture?
Well this picture we love so much because our lesson horses came to the barn as soon as they saw Lynnette go to the barn. They honestly love their job..or the extra treats they get?!🤷♀️
Either way it makes us so Happy to have them come to work on time❤🤣

Does my child ride every lesson?
Yes...but there is so much to be taught from on the ground too.
To be a good horse person it takes time. So we teach what is called groundwork with and without the horse. Here is Trinity learning to balance a cup of water while walking...simple right...not quite
Hold the reins, hold the full cup of water, look forward, keep posture, and smile😁
Then we have Aubree that is adding the horse to the equation and figuring it out. Keeping your hands still while riding means you are keeping your reins calm which is necessary to ride.

Using a flashback today from years ago. This is our farm's Quarter Horse stallion Rythm back in the early 70s with my aunt riding. She was testing out the parade saddle. What I wouldn't give to have that saddle now. So cool!

Been a busy past few days on the farm! We our loving it though. Some pics of what turned into a group lesson the other night. Why not come join our group?!?! A few lesson students had their lessons and asked to stay over to help the new students. SURE! What a thrill as an instructor to witness students teach new students something a few months ago they didn't know themselves. Then to have them tell the new students I didn't think I would be able to do this either and look at me now. Rising Stars...all of them😁🌟
