There has been a recent surge of missing and found pets on Facebook so please share this reminder about microchips. Many of these animals did not have a microchip, this would have been the easiest way to get these furkids home. Please take a minute and make sure the microchip information is up to date for your pet. If you aren't sure who to call for your microchip info let us know. We can scan your pet and let you know who to call. Social media may be everywhere these days but don't rely on it to get your pet home. Keep them safe in every way you can. Let us know if you have questions about microchips.

We have been informed that most of the local veterinary clinics are no longer open to new patients. With that in mind we are asking anyone that is a new client to please email us your records before calling to set up an appointment. We are getting so many phone calls we cannot possibly keep up. You can either obtain your records and send them to us or ask your previous vet to forward those records to us at [email protected]. Once we receive your records we will review those and call you to set up an appointment.

Unfortunately we are still having issues with no call/no show appointments. Moving forward there is a $25 no show fee in place and at our discretion repeat offenders will be dismissed from our care.

Good morning! Below are two tag along friends from a feline patient we saw this morning. These are ear mites. And, while a lot of owners believe they are causing your pets itchy ears, they are not the most common cause of ear problems. That belongs to allergies, bacteria and yeast infections. To prevent ear mites in your feline pets, medications like Revolution can be used to prevent myriad parasite issues. Let us know is your pet has these or other ear issues!

Good morning! Rona is a pet belonging to one of our staff. She has trouble holding still but only because she is a great little girl! Rona had a liver shunt. A history, physical exam and blood work helped to determine there was a problem. She has since had surgery and an uneventful recovery. Remember that these basic steps can help us to find underlying problems and keep your pet healthy. Have a great day!

This is an ear mite from a cat patient at our sister clinic in Elk County. They only account for a small percentage of ear infections. Bacteria and yeast are the culprits in most ear infections in adult animals, and allergies can play a part. If your pet has chronic ear infections, you should discuss allergies with your vet.
