Big congratulations to our four most recent graduates gaining their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Titles 👏👏🐶

The American Kennel Club’s CGC is a program that evaluates dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere focussing on 10 key elements, such as walking on a loose leash, meeting strangers, moving through crowds and following key commands. Dogs that pass the CGC test are considered reliable family and community members and will receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club 🐕‍🦺🦮📃🏅

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2024 Dog Olympics! It will be a fun filled day with Obedience Games in the morning and Agility Games in the afternoon, as well as a number of fun activities outside of the arena 🐶🐾🐾

The Games are open to members & students of USDTC as well as other local dog training clubs and their students 🦮🐕‍🦺🐕🏆

Calling all Trick Dogs 🐶💥

Check out the American Kennel Club virtual 2024 AKC Trick Dog National Competition 🏅🏆

All AKC Trick Dogs who have earned the Elite Performer title can enter the competition. And as long as their dogs have a Trick Dog title, Juniors may enter the competition at any level 🐕🐶

All you need to do is to make and submit up to two videos of your pup's trick routine(s) to AKC. The routine must be no longer than 6 minutes and may include props and music. The 6 minutes includes the time for moving props during the routine and performing the tricks. If you choose to give a speech at the beginning of your routine, this is counted in the 6 minutes 🎥🎬

To enter, submit your video between Thursday, August 1, 2024, and Tuesday, October 1, 2024

Three judges will judge the submissions and the winner will be announced in November 2024 🏅🏆

We will have one ring for Novice/Intermediate students and another ring for Advanced and above participants to ensure that we can customize the workshop experience at all levels.

Big congratulations to everyone from Monday's Puppy class for completing the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program 🏅🐶

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is such a great way for owners and their pups to bond and develop that deep bond for life. It's also the beginning of other exciting training opportunities as you get ready to move on to Obedience, Rally, Agility and so much more 🐕‍🦺🦮🐩

This holiday began in 1999 as a way to celebrate companion dogs and to encourage adoptions, and may just make you the most interesting coworker for the day 🖥️🐶

🐾 Florida Pet Owner Alert 🐾 We know we're going to get wet this summer, so let's get prepared ☔☔

A bill that, among other provisions, reenacts state sales tax holidays on certain disaster preparation supplies was signed by the Governor, with this year’s sales tax holiday dates being from June 1 to June 14, and August 24 to September 6 🐶🐾

The American Kennel Club and the Florida Association of Kennel Clubs supported this provision, which includes the following supplies used for the evacuation of pets, purchased for non-commercial use:

🐾 Bags of dry dog food or cat food weighing 50 or fewer pounds with a sales price of $100 or less per bag.
🐾 Cans or pouches of wet dog food or cat food with a sales price of $10 or less per can or pouch or the equivalent if sold in a box or case.
🐾 Over-the-counter pet medications with a sales price of $100 or less per item.
🐾 Portable kennels or pet carriers with a sales price of $100 or less per item.
🐾 Manual can openers with a sales price of $15 or less per item.
🐾 Leashes, collars, and muzzles with a sales price of $20 or less per item.
🐾 Collapsible or travel-sized food bowls or water bowls with a sales price of $15 or less per item.
🐾 Pet waste disposal bags with a sales price of $15 or less per package.
🐾 Pet pads with a sales price of $20 or less per box or package.
🐾 Pet beds with a sales price of $40 or less per item.

🎉 Join us as we kick off our 60th Anniversary celebrations! 🎉 This year marks a significant milestone for our Club, as we celebrate 60 years of dedication and passion 🎉🏆🎉

Back in 1964, Eva and Tony Caesar recognized the need for a dog training organization in Northern Pinellas, Florida. Their vision led to the founding of the Upper Suncoast Dog Obedience Club as a non-profit organization. Initially focused solely on Obedience training (as other disciplines weren't yet available), our Club has evolved over the years to embrace a wide range of trainings, from Agility to Rally, catering to both beginners and experts alike 🐾🦮🐶

Today, we are still committed to our non-profit ethos, offering diverse classes in Obedience, Agility, Conformation, Therapy Dog, and more - all very affordable as we continue to be completely volunteer and non-profit based.
