We have received hundreds of surrender requests since the start of the new year. We offer for people to foster their own animals, they'd be required to transport to one of our vets and meet with potential adopters. Out of those hundreds, how many people do you think opted in?

One. One person. One rabbit.

So what happens to the rest? We don't know. It keeps us up at night. We get comments like 'DO YOUR JOB' and 'YOU MUST NOT CARE.' What people fail to realize is the vast majority of people that work in independent rescues do not take a salary and work another job. The problem is we care 𝘵𝘰𝘰 much. We end up burning out trying to save as much as possible. But we simply can't compete with hoarders, breeders, or people that abandon them.

We need to do better.

- Most rescue centres will want to visit your home to see where the rabbits will live before letting you adopt.

- They will also ask you questions to make sure you fully understand what a commitment it is and what level of welfare is needed.
