As you all know our beautiful western North Carolina mountains have been destroyed by the hurricane and so many people have lost so so much..

We will be opening up Animal Hospital of Clemmons this coming week as a drop off location for pet food / pet item donations and other items needed at this time!

Items accepted at our hospital include:

*Cat Litter
*Regular pan litter boxes (no lids please)
*P*e pads
*Dog food (wet/dry)
*Cat food (wet/dry)
*Cat / dog toys
*Collars/leashes

*Water
*Gatorade
*Protein Bars
*Small packs of diapers/wipes/ formula
*toothbrushes/toothpaste/deodorant
*Bars of soap
*Small amounts of canned / boxed food
*Hair brushes/hair ties
*Feminine products

All staff members are informed and any of them can take the donations off your hands ❤️

Playtime with Spock! How many of your cats play fetch?

It was an interesting morning here at AHC! Not only do we help dogs and cats, but Dr. Pugh can also be found helping wildlife as well! Today an injured female squirrel came in and Dr. Pugh jumped in to help her. She had overgrown teeth, a broken foot, and a cuterebra or “warble.” This is where a botfly larva burrows into the skin of an animal and grows. It created an infected area in the skin of the squirrel. Dr. Pugh trimmed the squirrel’s overgrown teeth and removed the botfly larva. An X-ray revealed multiple broken bones in the left rear foot that should heal with rest. Hopefully this little one will be able to be released in the next several weeks! Great job Dr. Pugh!

Kitten update: Night time plays with my best friend, Emma are my favorite!

Update on kitten: Today has been a very big day for this little girl!! As you can see she is trying very hard to eat some canned kitten food (I really hope everyone can hear the slurping noises she is making in this video)! She also used her litter box for the first time today!! They just grow up so fast! Since she does not have a name yet, we thought that we would ask all of you to help us with this. Comment your name suggestion under this post and maybe yours will be the one we pick!

Animal Hospital of Clemmons is about to celebrate our 29th birthday in May! Dr. Molly Douglass and Dr. Jackie Martin opened the practice in 1989 and have continually grown since. Due to the great response from our patients and their families, in February 2002, they moved the practice to a new, much larger facility on Neudorf Road.

Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise. Above all, we remember that each animal has its own needs for treatment plans, check-ups, procedures, or surgeries. This knowledge allows us to customize a treatment plan for your animal like no one else in the field!
