We had to say goodbye last week to our last greyhound . It’s been a joy and honor to have found forever homes for our sighthounds. We owe all the tribute and recognition though to Linda and Steve Fields for their vision with starting our group and in that became some of our very best friends .
Happy Memories
This album is for our babies who are happy in their forever homes. Some of them have been adopted for a while. Just thought we would share life after adoption.
I’ve been avoiding making this post for a week because then I have to acknowledge that my friend is gone. For those of you who may or may not know, one week ago today, Linda Fields passed away after ongoing health complications. 🥹
Linda was the heart and spirit of this group and worked so tirelessly over the years to rehome as many sighthounds as we could.
It was a joint effort with Steve and the rest of our volunteers over the years. It was her passion and dedication to this group that our dogs got good loving homes.
What began with Scott and I about 16 years ago, we adopted our first greyhound. We not only adopted but fostered many many dogs over the years.
But, what we gained even more was an unbreakable bond with Linda and Steve. We became instant friends as well as family members.
I am heartbroken 💔 and so sad to have lost one of my best friends. I keep thinking oh I’ll call Linda and ask her advice about so many things but I can’t do that because she is no longer with us.
We will miss her always, think of her with admiration and love but for now we say goodbye.
I’m sure that she is getting lots of doggy kisses from all of our friends at the rainbow bridge.
So for now, we say goodbye and goodnight and we’ll see you again someday my friend.

For the hounds has lost one of its founders. Mel was so instrumental in helping greyhounds find a home. She was cheerful,loving and funny. Mel enjoyed fostering and meet and greets. Fly high Mel! Bet there were lots of greys to meet you!
This sweet boy helped his former Dad to heal when he lost his heart dog, then Finn lost his Dad and one of our friends stepped up to take him and his brother. Yesterday Finn’s journey was complete. He had a wonderful life with his Dad and then another wonderful life with a family that loved him so. He is now running with his Dad, both free of pain. Gone but never forgotten.
These eyes will draw you in, such sweet pets. Joybell almost 13 yrs. old. She helped us adopt quite a few times now we treasure everyday we have left with her.
I have always felt that pets can heal and help us more than we help them. Proof of a sweet little furry girl to be the one who comforts and loves her people. ❤️🐾 Cookie aka S’mores

So here's a very happy ending for the iggie pup Blue aka Blu Lou. So thankful to have good iggie loving people to adopt to. He is in hog heaven.

For the Hounds
Blue is a 10 month old blue Italian greyhound. He was turned in because of his owners age and health issues. He does ok in a crate, has good leash manners, LOVES dogs and cats of all sizes. He is working on his potty training, he will use a puppy pad and he's learning the house rules. He is like a fuzzy toddler. Lol
Blue is still very much puppy, very energetic and needs a play buddy and someone who can spend a lot of time with him on training. He is very, very sweet and loves to cuddle. Loves to run around outside so a fenced in yard is a plus. Blue needs an energetic family that has an iggie or has had iggie experience. He has a crate, bed and all kinds of toys.
He would not do well as an only dog or an apartment dog because he thrives on playing and attention and he likes to roo!
Who would like an Iggie? Blue is 10 mos. old, he's blue in color with grey eyes. We will get a better picture if you need one. He's crate trained, leash trained and loves other dogs and kids. He's very friendly and very sweet. Being so young he's working on his house manners and he's very curious about everything. I really think he would love a buddy to play with unless he has someone home with him a lot. Italian greyhound experienced humans are preferred.
He loves to cuddle, sleep against your back and is living with greyhounds, a Borzoi, a female iggie and 2 cats. He loves all of them. I think with his age and energy level he needs a playmate.
We currently have 4 greyhounds looking for their forever home. Marcus and Ginger are a brindle pair, they're 10 yrs old and were returned because their owner had to go out of the country for work. They are very sweet and easy going.
Grace is a small black female who will be 5 yrs old in July. She is spunky and full of energy, crates well and loves toys and lots of attention. Grace is very independent and could be an only dog. She is not cat safe or small dog safe but loves kids.
Max is a white and brindle 10 yr old who was returned because his family is moving. He's always lived with a Visla and loves the other greys at our house including the iggie. He is very sweet and laid back. He would enjoy having a buddy and a quiet home. If you're interested in any of these babies please contact us. Thank you!

This is Grace. She was returned today. Grace is very independent and would do well as an only dog. She needs a home where she is the center of attention. Grace does not do well with small dogs or dominant dogs. She prefers to run the show. Lol, she is a hugger and a lap girl. Small petite spunky girl who needs a lot of attention and love. Meet Maxie, Lol. His real name is Max. Max was returned due to no fault of his own, his parents are divorcing so they could no longer keep him. He also lived with a Visla sister.
Max is 10 yrs old, just had a dental and up to date on all of his shots. He takes cosequin for some arthritis in his hip and Gabapentin for pain. But he doesn't seem to mind trotting around the yard.
He is very, very sweet and easy going. He is cat safe and small dog safe and seems to love having greyhound buddies. He's had a hard time adjusting but he's starting to eat well and even play with his foster siblings.
He loves being close to his humans and really enjoys laying on the bed as you can see in the pictures.
Do you have room for Max on your bed? A place for him to live out his last years? He's such a good boy!

Indy is now chasing squirrels in the heaven of greyhounds. We will miss her dearly. She loved when we called "Walkie" or "Cookies" in a high pitched British accent. Adopt a Greyhound, they are delightful, dedicated companions..twas a sad day...
