Well guess i wont be buying this cleaner anymore. Ugh. These companies. And trying to keep us all un healthy. .
I see these in so many of my pet parents homes. Just like I want them to learn about better food for their fur babies, I sure wish they would consider letting me teach them about my wellness club. I haven’t used a toxic product in my home since 2002!! Fur babies are more exposed than any of us, being home 24-7 and down low where so many cleaning items are stored and the outgasing reaches them first.
🗣️Don’t buy these products!!!! There are better more affordable products that are not greenwashed.
🚫Greenwashing is when certain brands falsely claim to be a "natural" alternative for your home. This particular brand is one of the biggest offenders. They’ve tricked me before with the clever marketing, earthy scents and innocent looking bottle that screams eco-friendly.
👵 Did you know that Mrs. Meyer’s was NOT founded by a sweet little old lady named Mrs. Meyer? Nope! The company was founded by a woman named Monica Nassif, a corporate marketing consultant and executive founder of the Caldrea Company -- She named the brand after her own mother, who raised 9 children on a farm in Iowa. Monica understood the power of a good "storyline" for selling cleaning products and has succeeded in duping many over the years.
➡️ Mrs. Meyer’s brand is actually owned by SC Johnson! 🤯 Yep! They were acquired back in 2009 by SC Johnson, the manufacturer of the following toxic products:⚠️Raid, ⚠️Glade Plug-Ins, ⚠️Scrubbing Bubbles, ⚠️Off! bug repellent, and ⚠️Drano. The company continues to test their products on animals. 😞
➡️ Let's take a minute and look at the packaging of Mrs. Meyer’s. It looks so homemade, innocent, a reminiscent of our beloved toxin-free Dr.Bronner’s (this is no coincidence!) Don't be fooled.
Dangerous chemicals in Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Products:
❌ Benzisothiazolinone
❌ PEG-2 Cocomonium Chloride
❌ Methylisothiazoline (linked to nerve damage by the NIH)
❌ Phenoxyethanol
❌ Sodium Caprylyl Sulfonate and
❌ Sodium methyl-2 lauryl sulfate (can create cancer-causing nitrosamines and cause acute aquatic toxicity)
❌ Fragrance - undisclosed concoctions of chemicals and most likely glycol ethers, as with many SC Johnson products)
Next time you see the pretty and colorful Mrs. Meyer’s display, you may want to reconsider.
All pets must be on flea medication and up to date on shots.
