🍂🦃 Can I Share Thanksgiving Foods with My Dog? Yes! But Here’s What to Avoid: 🐾✨
While celebrating Thanksgiving, it’s tempting to include our dogs in the feast. Here’s what’s safe to share and what to avoid to keep your furry friend healthy!
Safe to Share:
1️⃣ Turkey: Lean, unseasoned turkey meat (no skin or bones!) is a great protein treat.
2️⃣ Sweet Potatoes: Plain, cooked sweet potatoes are full of fiber and vitamins—no marshmallows or butter!
3️⃣ Green Beans: Fresh, plain green beans are nutritious and safe. Avoid casserole versions with added ingredients.
4️⃣ Pumpkin: Plain, unsweetened pumpkin is gentle on your dog’s stomach and tastes delicious.
5️⃣ Apple Slices: Fresh apple slices (without seeds) are sweet and packed with vitamins.
Avoid These Foods:
🚫 Stuffing & Gravy: These often contain onions, garlic, and spices that are toxic to dogs.
🚫 Mashed Potatoes: Butter, milk, and cream make mashed potatoes unhealthy for dogs.
🚫 Desserts (Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate): Sugars, chocolate, and spices make desserts unsafe for pets.
🚫 Ham & Fatty Meats: High-fat meats can cause stomach upset and pancreatitis.
