Phillip is here to say that we are running low on blankets and towels! We need more to help dogs stay comfy and cozy in their kennels.

We welcome donations of new or gently used blankets and towels. They should be machine washable for us to use. At this time, we don't need sheets, pillows/pillowcases, or knit blankets/comforters. Donations can be dropped off at the kennel, 9203 Detroit Ave, during open hours: 10am-3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and 10am-6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The kennel is OVER capacity! It's been a while since we have been able to say we weren't full, but really it's way beyond that - we are bursting at the seams. We have dogs in overflow crates and offices and consult rooms, and staying in cages that are too small because there's nowhere else for them to go. Our staff and volunteers are doing their best to keep up but it's really hard to keep up with these numbers. We'll pull off a bunch of adoptions or a big transport only to have a weekend where 40 dogs arrive and fill all the space right back up.

We need our community's help to find homes for adoptable dogs and to keep dogs home! What can you do?

If you or anyone you know loses a pet, make sure to check the kennel frequently. All lost dogs that we have at the kennel can be viewed at www.tinyurl.com/CleLostDogs. We know many of them are missing their homes and we'd like to get them back to their families! The quicker we can get a dog home, the quick we have space to help another animal in need.

Take proactive steps to keep your pets safe and at home. Make sure your pet has a microchip and that it is UPDATED with current contact information, in addition to other forms of ID. Check in with friends and family to make sure they do the same.

Get your pets spayed/neutered and encourage friends and family to do the same! Accidental or unwanted litters will only contribute to the animal shelter overpopulation crisis that's happening across the country.

Thank you for the help spreading the word - we need to find homes for these dogs and slow down the flood of new dogs coming our way each day, and we can't do it alone!
