Sweet girls are getting some attention today. CeCe's Horsemanship had a lesson this morning and we spent some of the time with momma and her baby! Then Jolene and Brianna went around doing obstacles! They did wonderful!

Good Food for the Soul is going to be at this event in Cleveland with one of our rescues to get some outreach and hopefully more awareness and funding. We will be needing some items if anyone can help out by loaning or donating! We are excited to offer a booth with our Miniature, Peaches, and a roping dummy! Many other vendors will be there with face painting and crafts for the kids!

Come show your support for our community!

Cleveland’s National Night Out Event Brings Community Together at First Baptist Church

CLEVELAND, TX – Cleveland’s First Baptist Church, located at 300 West Hanson St., will host the 2024 annual National Night Out on September 26th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This family-friendly event will bring the community together with local first responders, featuring the Cleveland ISD Royal Braves Band and JROTC for an opening ceremony.

All local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS have been invited to participate, giving residents a chance to meet and talk to those who serve and protect the community. In addition, numerous local businesses and organizations will set up booths, each offering games, crafts, or activities for kids. It’s the perfect opportunity for families to come out, enjoy the evening, and make lasting connections with their neighbors and first responders.

Martin Chevrolet will provide free food for all attendees, and other vendors will be on-site with options available for purchase. From games to crafts and activities, there will be plenty of entertainment for children of all ages.

We encourage everyone to bring their kids and enjoy a fun, safe, and welcoming event. National Night Out is about having a sense of unity in our community and giving families a chance to meet the first responders who work to keep us safe.

When you are given the option for a free female donkey but nobody knew she had a foal! We are so grateful to now have these two precious donkeys as a new addition to our facility. 🥰

Any horse that has been to the Bowie Livestock barn or has been in contact with horses from Bowie Livestock Barn is NOT ALLOWED on the property for the next 30 days.

As with anything there will be a million different people saying a million different things. We can all hope that the original information that was shared wasn’t completely accurate, however we are still going to be proactive in protecting our facility and our animals from any possible threats. When more information is released we may change plans going forward, but for now we are going to stand by not allowing any horses from Bowie or in contact with horses from Bowie from coming to our facility.

Pease see the post we shared from Bowie. They confirmed a horse tested positive on Friday and are awaiting further test results from the state which will be back Friday to confirm whether the horse actually is positive or if it was a false positive. As such we are also awaiting those results before we open back up as normal. Here is a link to their post as well.

Open for business! Lessons or training. Generators are costing a fortune and I'm needing work. All this weather and screwed up streets have taken all my income and I need to be able to keep up with the rescues. We would love donations but I'm all for working for that money. Anyone have any jobs that will pay, let me know! Getting almost desperate here.

As we are all dealing with the damages sustained, ASI Construction Services can help you get your place fixed up. Be sure to give them a call. I do recommend their services! They have been helpful to myself and our rescue on several occasions. We hope y'all are doing ok as we recover.

We are very lucky to only have one big tree come down. Tons of branches all over and no power but all animals and structures are good aside from the front fence.

July 6th 7am update: very little change in forecast track overnight. Beryl is still expected to intensify prior to landfall and regain hurricane strength.

Today will be the day we start to see confidence in the forecast for landfall location. As this information becomes available from the National Hurricane Center, we will update you.

This mornings briefing discussed the possibility of tornados late Sunday and into Tuesday. Heavy rain for much of the county with accumulation between 6-9 inches over two days. Some isolated higher amounts are possible west of I-45. At this time we’re NOT expecting nor forecasted to see hurricane force winds in Montgomery County. Exact track will determine whether we’ll see tropical storm level winds.

Please make preparations today and tomorrow as impacts from Beryl will start to be seen Sunday evening.
