Alaska's Hope Animal Rescue - AHAR - Cleveland, TX

Alaska's Hope Animal Rescue - AHAR - Cleveland, TX Alaska’s Hope Animal Rescue is a no kill, facility and foster based non – profit organization just outside of Houston. We have taken on the worst of the worst.

At Alaska’s Hope we wish that no animal endures the pain and suffering of a life on a chain, abandonment, abuse, or neglect. Our volunteers work to support and preserve the precious lives that are in our care regardless of the mountains we must climb to get there. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed, or ease of placement. We are named after a beloved rescue dog "Alaska" who was abused and neglected.

Urgent Dog and cat Food Request for Street Feeders and fosters

Alaska’s Hope Animal Rescue needs your help! Our street feeders and fosters work tirelessly to provide meals to dogs and cats who are living on the streets and that they have picked up from the streets, many of whom are waiting for rescue or have no one else to rely on. Right now, our supply of dog and cat food is running low, and we need to restock to keep these pups and cats fed and healthy.

We are looking for donations of:

Dry dog and cat food

Wet dog and cat food

Treats

Every bag or can makes a difference in the lives of these animals. If you’d like to donate, you can drop off supplies, have them shipped directly to us, or contribute funds for us to purchase the food.

Please reach out for our drop-off location or mailing address. On behalf of the dogs and cats we serve, thank you for your generosity! Together, we can ensure no pup or cat goes hungry.

You can also call in to our local tractor supply and order for Alaska’s Hope Animal Rescue / Lidia Martinez to pick up.

Mark your calendar! TCAP will host a Free Fix Day on Wednesday, November 27. This is our 11th and Final Free Fix Day of 2024 due to the Christmas holiday!

During our Free Fix days, TCAP offers FREE sterilization and rabies vaccines for feral and community cats. This event will take place at six TCAP clinics: Arlington, Burleson, Denton, Garland, Hurst, and Weatherford! 75 cats will be seen at each location on a first-come, first-served basis.

There’s no limit on the number of cats per caregiver, and no appointment is required. Cats must arrive in individual live traps or pet carriers, and all cats will receive an ear tip.

Each cat accepted will receive a voucher for a free spay/neuter for another cat at a future date. Trap One, Get One! You will be able to make an appointment for a free feral spay or neuter at a future date using the voucher you receive. This voucher also includes a rabies vaccine.

Please stay in line if you are outside of the first 75! Our team will provide one voucher per cat present for sterilization vaccine for the next 75 cats! You will be able to make an appointment for a free feral spay or neuter and rabies vaccine at a future date using the voucher you receive. Only those already in line with cats will receive the voucher. The line cuts off no later than 9 am!

Our total impact per location is 225 cats!

Important Notes:
*Any additional fees for in-heat, cryptorchid, or pregnancy procedures will be covered by TCAP
*Caretakers will be responsible for any additional elective services such as vaccines, pain medication, or viral testing at the time of service
*Cats must be presented in live traps or pet carriers
Thank you for being a vital part of our community effort. We’re excited to continue supporting you and the feral and community cats in your care!

A Huge Thank You to The The Empty Shelter Project-Texas ! 🙌🐾

I want to take a moment to spotlight the incredible work of The Empty Shelter Project—an organization making an enormous impact by providing free spay/neuter services for hundreds of animals. Their efforts directly combat the overwhelming overpopulation crisis, preventing countless litters from being born into difficult circumstances.

Recently, they spayed/neutered 8 dogs and 4 cats for Andy and me—12 animals that will no longer contribute to the overpopulation crisis. This means fewer animals born into tough situations, whether on the streets or through owner surrenders. The impact of their work on our rescue efforts and these animals’ futures is immeasurable.

To Mary Tipton and her amazing team, as well as the compassionate vets, vet techs, and every single volunteer—you are an inspiration to all of us. Your work doesn’t just save lives today; it transforms communities for years to come. Thank you for your dedication and for being such a shining example of what’s possible when we work together. 💕

I’ve been practicing some commands with my foster mom, and I’m working really hard at them! Did I mention that I’m potty trained? No accidents inside my home! I love cuddles and sleeping next to my foster mom while she works.

Crystal's Journey Update

Crystal has come so far! From a fragile, malnourished pup weighing only 26 pounds when she first arrived, she’s now tipping the scales close to 50 pounds. She has officially passed her physical, overcoming the odds stacked against her.

When we first met Crystal, she was fighting for survival every day, weak and unable to keep food down, battling infections, and barely hanging on. Her spirit, however, never wavered. Through countless vet visits, special diets, and a lot of love and patience, she started to grow stronger—one little milestone at a time.

Today, Crystal is not just surviving; she’s thriving. She’s worked her way through illness, learned her commands with enthusiasm, and found joy in simply being able to play like any other dog. Now, thanks to Better Together Dog Rescue, she’s on her way to the next big step in her journey: finding a forever home filled with the love she truly deserves.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported her along the way. Crystal’s journey has been nothing short of a miracle, and we can’t wait to see her bring joy to her future family.
