So I didn't want to jinx it by posting too soon but the reason BPL brought me the celebratory cupcake I posted about earlier in the week was: I WAS ADOPTED THIS PAST WEEKEND!!!

I have a City Dog brother and a cat sibling that I'm getting to know and some goats and horses and chickens that I haven't yet met! And I have amazing new people who are really kind and thoughtful, and a warm and quiet house to snooze and rough-house in.

I am so grateful and so are all of my City Dogs friends. ❤️❤️❤️

My kennel friend Adopt City Dog Robin was adopted today (woohoo!), less than 24 hours after posting a Led Zeppelin song on her FB page! So BPL said maybe it's a good luck charm and I should post one too. Could there be any more obvious choice of Led Zepplin songs?

True story: apparently "there was a nameless black labrador retriever that would wander the grounds of the mansion where Led Zeppelin recorded their 4th album, and the band ended up befriending and feeding the dog. And when the band was in need of a name for this track but couldn't find inspiration, they thought of their canine friend and named the song “Black Dog“."

Dedicating this one to all of my black dog friends! You are strong and beautiful and inspiring! You know who you are! 🖤🖤🖤

For our second day of Adventure-Time, we started the drizzling morning off with a walk on the towpath. BPL was supposed to take me back to the kennel afterwards, but she told me she was having so much fun with me that she was going to hog me for the afternoon too.

So once the rain stopped, we made our way to Bridal Veil Falls in the Bedford Metroparks because BPL knows how much I love the swimming pool and thought I might get a kick out of splashing around in the creek. And she was right! It's a lot different than the kiddie pools (dirty and rocky) but also way more interesting (tiny falls and weird things to looks at). It was such a fun time!

And then we hiked again to dry off and I found BPL this mushroom which I was kind of like whatever about but she was all OMG because apparently it's a lion's mane mushroom (which I kind of see why it's called that, if the lion were all white and made out of fungus).

Afterwards she treated me to some chicken nuggets for my excellent mushroom-hunting which were A++++ delicious.

It was a great day and I know we both were sad when I had to go back to the kennel. But hopefully I'll find an adopter who also likes adventure-time. And chicken nuggets. (And maybe less mushrooms. 😁)

Back to this week's adventures:

Monday evening, after we hiked, we went on ANOTHER car ride, this time to Terrestrial Brewing Company where I got a surprise when a friend of mine met us out! I was soooo excited to see her!!

I was a little nervous with all the hubbub at first - there were so many people out and about and so many thought I was cute and wanted to say hi. I'm a bit of an introvert, so it was a lot! But I got to see lots of dogs (a little Boston named Zoey got all flirty with me 😁😁😁) and the staff was super nice! One even has her own City Dog named Zuko and brought out a box of toys for me to play with! (She was my favorite.)

BPL was very proud of me (she's an introvert too so she gets me) and said I was very brave and polite!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for some pics of me looking posh AF in my new bowtie from Pet-tique . BPL wanted to get me a water-themed collar (since I love splashing around in the pool and creeks) but didn't find anything that suited me. But then she saw this pirate-themed bowtie and thought it was perfect because I've been a recent adventurer, love the water, and don't mind some nice b***y.

So: adventure tales at last!

The first part of my 24 hours of adventure-time with Bossy Playgroup Lady was hiking at West Creek Reservation. I was a little nervous in the car (those giant hunks of metal are kind of weird... and they move so fast... and then you stop and a bunch of strange people are also in giant hunks of metal and some look at you) but I held it together.

Hiking was a lot of fun though. So many things to sniff! I saw some dogs. And also a tiny person, some bike people, and a huge bee's nest! Also some deer. Those were really cool. Like giant weird dogs. I'm a really good hiker and try to keep pace with my hiking buddies and check in a lot, so BPL called me a good boy a LOT!

Bossy Playgroup Lady has a weird obsession with mushrooms (if you couldn't tell from my profile pic 🙄🙄🙄) but I humored her and let her get a picture or two.

All in all, I give the adventure an A- (needed more dogs!).

I had so much crazy adventure in the past 24 hours that I'm completely tuckered out. But we're headed out for one more hike once this rain finally stops. Will post more once I'm finally done adventuring!
