Hey friends! 👋🏼 Just checking in…..how are we all doing this cold and flu season? It’s been a hard one! 🤧🤒😷 Here are some tips from 4 year old Nixon and his best pal Benny to help everyone get through this season a little easier:

•Wash your hands often 🫧
• If you are feeling sick, stay home 🤧
• Get plenty of rest 😴
• Drink lots of fluids 🫗
• Make sure to have your emotional support collie with you at all times 🐶 🐾

🐾 ❤️ Celebrate Foster February with us this this year! ❤️🐾

🐶 During the month of February we will be sharing information, stories, videos and much more to help encourage anyone who has ever been curious about becoming a foster for one of our collies, or has been possibly thinking about adopting or joining the fostering community. 🐶

• Fostering helps our collies adapt to life in a home and become more adoptable

•Fostering gives our dogs a chance to be prepared for adoption by overcoming fears, recovering from trauma, and expressing their character in order to match the perfect new home that fits to their specific personality

•Fostering, although can be at times challenging, can also be a fulfilling and joyous experience.

During the month of February ❤️, if you apply to be a foster and are approved, you will receive our new “ask me about my foster dog” team t- shirt!

Hi! I am Jasper!

I am a 2-year old goofball looking for a new foster OR immediate adoption placement. I love to run, cuddle, and do well with cats, dogs, and kiddos!

I am neutered, housetrained, crate trained, and up to date on vaccinations and rabies. I love attention and will do anything for a treat!

I do have epilepsy, but it hasn’t bothered me since starting on daily medication! Interested adopters should know my friends at NEOCR said there is a special fund to help if I should need medical attention due to seizures if they ever reoccur.

Won’t you please give me a couch to cuddle on?

NorthEast Ohio Collie Rescue is looking for potential adopters for smooth collies that meet the following requirements:
Wants a smooth collie,
Wants a male collie,
Wants a dog 2-4 years old,
Has a fenced yard (not electric, not a pen),
Lives within a ~100 mile radius of Cleveland,
Will have a positive vet check indicating that present pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and HW prevention,
Will do a meet and greet with all humans and pets in the household,
Plus meets all other requirements of NEOCR adoptions.

‼️FOSTERS NEEDED‼️

We are in critical need for fosters at this time. The holiday season and right after is, unfortunately, a popular time for dogs to be surrendered. We would love to be able to help every dog we can and give them a cozy couch to sleep on!

The NEOCR is not a shelter, therefore the number of dogs we are able to help is solely based upon the number of available fosters we have.

Lily Rosalia: A Life of Grace and Love

Lily Rosalia came into this world on a cold winter day, a sable-headed white collie with a luxurious rough coat. Her first eleven years remain a mystery, a tale untold. But the part of her life that touched hearts and changed lives began when she was deceitfully surrendered to a shelter, abandoned by those who should have cherished her.

When she arrived, her fur was so matted that she had to be shaved—a heartbreaking symbol of neglect. She trembled with fear, unsure of the world around her, as the shelter handed her into the care of the NorthEast Ohio Collie Rescue. It was here that Lily Rosalia's story of redemption and love began.

In the initial care of Fosters Auntie Rose and Pete, Lily found her first taste of kindness, a stepping stone to the life she deserved. Then, a kindhearted woman named Karen opened her home and heart to this fragile senior collie. With love and constant care, Karen transformed Lily from a timid, trembling soul into a radiant, confident companion.

Rosalia Lily blossomed into a stunning senior with a coat so white it shone like a princess’s gown. She loved her walks in the park, her gentle demeanor drawing admiration wherever she went. She became the darling of the neighborhood, a true icon of grace. Drivers would slow down to comment on her beauty, and everyone who met her fell in love.

Her life with Karen was everything she could have dreamed of and more. She lived with dignity, surrounded by love, and her spirit shone brighter each day. Lily Rosalia adored everyone she met, returning their affection tenfold.

This morning, Lily Rosalia peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, beauty, and boundless love. She touched so many lives in her time and will forever be remembered as the best dog, a cherished companion, and a testament to the transformative power of kindness.

Rest well, sweet Lily Rosalia. You were loved beyond measure, and your memory will always shine as brightly as your princess coat.
