Rounding out October by introducing our June Board and Train crew!

Met Jane, Abe, Chico, Poe, and Wendy. Each dog came to us with a unique set of goals and personalities which demonstrates how just about any dog can find a board and train program for them.

Chico was our longest board and train, spending five weeks with us to truly build up his confidence, teach basics, address reactivity, and work towards off leash freedoms. Abe was technically the second longest resident, splitting his four week board and train into 2, two week stays. This was to ensure Abe was mature enough at each phase of training. Jane and Poe spent three weeks with us for very different reasons. Jane’s parents had already gone through our board and train program with their other dog, Atlas, so they were very familiar with our program. Poe’s parents had already done a great job of building up Poe’s obedience, but we had a lot of behavioral issues to address. Lastly, Wendy joined us for a one week board and train (only offered to existing clients) to clean up basics while her parents welcome their newborn son.

Exciting News! 🎉

We’re thrilled to officially introduce Jess as our new General Manager!

Jess has been part of our team for almost five years, and many of you already know her as one of our dedicated dog trainers. Over the years, she’s worn many hats — most recently stepping into the role of Operations Coordinator, where she handled invoices, client inquiries, and all the behind-the-scenes details that keep our facility running smoothly.

With her degree in business and deep understanding of our operations, Jess is perfectly positioned to help lead our team into continued growth and success — all while maintaining the same exceptional care and standards your dogs have come to know and love.

Her focus will be on improving functionality, staff training, professional development, communication, and feedback systems to make sure both our clients and their dogs have the best experience possible.

Please join us in congratulating Jess on her new role — we’re so excited to see all she’ll accomplish!

Happy Monday from our May board and train crew!

We love sharing each of our board and train’s stories as it gives you an idea of the issues your dog can overcome with proper training. Each of May’s dogs have a unique story that brought them to us.

Piper completed a 4 week board and train, Bear a 5 week board and train, Della a 2 week board and train, and Iggy a 1 week board and train. Della and Iggy had previously completed training with us so they were able to partake in a shorter program. If you’re a current client looking for a tune up, please reach out to the trainer you worked with.

If you’re looking to get your dog in for a board and train, we have one space remaining for October and a handful of spaces remaining for November and December.

Meet Clara, our September Client Spotlight

Clara is a 2.5 year old Boxer and Pit Mix who lives in Ohio City with her parents, Devin and Elise. Her parents said their favorite thing about Clara is how sassy and silly she can be, while always being down to nap.

We started working with Clara in May of this year after she was adopted from a local shelter. Elise quickly realized Clara had severe separation anxiety, was reactive to dogs and people, had a pretty high prey drive, was not housebroken, and didn’t know anything but sit. Panic set in as Elise realized this was more than she was capable of handling on her own. Thankfully, Clara is the second dog in Elise’s family we’ve worked with, so Elise knew who to contact.

At the assessment, Elise explained she wanted Clara to be calm around new people and dogs, learn to settle, to potty outdoors, and to work on her separation anxiety and crate training. We quickly got to work and began teaching Clara some basics so she and Elise could have a way to communicate and understand each other. Once we were able to communicate with Clara and provide feedback we focused heavily on her reactivity and separation anxiety. By addressing the anxiety towards dogs, people, and being alone, Clara’s potty accidents quickly lessened. Clara has now gone to a few patios and coffee shops and has done so well!

Clara, Elise, and Devin continue to work on Clara’s crate training and separation anxiety. Clara continues to make great progress and no longer goes into a meltdown when asked to go into her crate. Clara came to us with a lot going on, but Elise has been so dedicated to ensuring Clara gets the best care and training with the resources available. We can’t wait to see how Clara continues to progress!

“Paige helped us fall in love with Clara and become a family. She helped us bond with Clara and we will always be grateful. Clara is our best friend and she continues to learn more everyday.”

Meet our April Client Spotlight, Pepper 🌶️

Pepper is a 4 year old German Shepherd who lives in Cleveland with her dads, Peter and Vince. She is a Pisces and recently celebrated her fourth birthday in her new house! Pepper came to us in summer 2024 to address some separation anxiety, resource guarding, and overall confidence building. After months of putting in the work, Pepper has become a sweet, sociable, good girl who loves to spend her mornings cuddling on the couch. Peter and Vince said their favorite thing about Pepper is how expressive she can be, along with how loyal she is to them.

Before Pepper was adopted she was used in a puppy mill, meaning she lacked any proper
socialization. This led to Pepper being timid, anxious, and mistrusting of most people. In fact,
Pepper took a good deal of time to acclimate to Peter and learn that she could also trust him. By
working on Pepper’s confidence and building Peter and Vince’s confidence as handlers, Pepper has grown into a super sweet and loving dog who now greets strangers with a tail wag and is ready to receive pets.

Peter and Vince continue to work on place to help with any anxiety, door drills, and recall.
Pepper is a smart girl and also just learned paw! The most valuable thing they learned during
training is how far consistency can take you. Pepper just celebrated a year with Peter and Vince and she is a completely different dog in the best way.

“Paige and Turning Point were an absolute pleasure to work with and helped us to instill
confidence in ourselves which allowed Pepper to be the confident dog we knew she could be - and now is!”
