✨Care✨
The health and wellness of our puppies begin day one. Dams are given kibble/raw mix diet with added supplements beginning at heat cycle and maintained throughout the entire time she’s nursing pups. Healthy moms produce healthy pups.
We are thankful for our continued relationship with local vet, Veterinary Hospital of New Waverly. From ultrasound to first round of shots (and beyond with our keepers), they’re our one stop shop for all questions and concerns. Not to mention, it takes EVERYBODY when we come in 😂
Although we worm puppies ourselves (every two weeks), pups are given their shots by veterinary staff and are examined by licensed veterinarians regularly to ensure all pups sold have a clean bill of health.
✨Research✨
Dutch Shepherds are naturally a high drive dog.
In one litter you could have dogs that HAVE to go to strict working homes, but also have a lower drive that will be okay with daily runs.
Yes they may cuddle up on the couch with you.
Yes they can be very affectionate.
Yes they will not so shyly remind you it’s time to go run a marathon and play for 2 hours.
Yes you gain scary dog privilege, and immediately become less approachable with one.
BUT.
They also forget how strong they are and can leave scratches and bites. (Mouth Hugs)
They’re known for displacement behaviors when having big feelings.
They require regular training sessions, that include learning new things.
Daily mental stimulation.
They’re going to test you limits and make you question your sanity at least once a week, if not more.
Do your research. Speak with your breeder. Trust them when placing a dog in your home, as they’re looking past gender and color.
My goal is to make the perfect match ❤️
💅✨Manners matter!✨💅
I’ve about had enough of looking like I get attacked be gremlins, so it’s time to squash these potatoes bad habits before they start.
All pups are being expected to sit for anything. We use a technique called free shaping. This practice does not involve luring, and allows dogs to think critically to figure out what I’m asking for in order to get the reward.
Here, Hasselback wants my attention. He will not get said attention until he sits and holds. I do not expect anything more than a couple seconds max for a few sessions with time gradually increasing.
I have to say, these are some smart kids!
💪 💪
We tried something new today!
Odin’s training has taken a back seat with the puppies arrival, but we’re back at it.
It’s a start, hopefully we will be competing by the end of the year!

Puppy show down! These guys are learning key skills for later in life.
We believe in a hands off method when it comes to rough housing. This is how they learn boundaries and the art of play.
🎈🎊Happy New Year 🎊🎈
Bringing in the New Year, I am announcing my new business venture: Dutch Shepherds.
You can expect the same quality and customer care as you did with our horse business. My goal is to breed mentally sound and bred to function puppies to help improve the Dutch shepherd breed.
Although this is not a breed meant for every home or family, I believe this relatively new breed is worth promoting.
As always feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback!
