🚨 URGENT: Petey has been at the shelter for over a year but is still full of smiles. Will you help him find a home?

Petey is a lively 6-year-old pup who is incredibly smart and sweet. He’s a great listener and has excelled at learning all kinds of tricks like sit, down, rollover, and more. Petey is very well-mannered and loves people. He loves to entertain and make everyone around him happy.

This handsome guy is very affectionate and will lean in for pets and cuddles. Petey enjoys walks, exploring, and any activity. He’s a staff and volunteer favorite who loves to play and roll on his back. Petey is charming and gets along with everyone he meets. Although he loves people, he’s not keen on other canine friends and would do best as your biggest fan in the home which he will surely fill with love!

A year is a long time to wait for a new family. Please help Petey find the home he’s been dreaming of or come in to see how special he is!

We’re overflowing with furry friends who need our help. Whether you’ve got space for a playful pup, a snuggly kitten, or a sweet senior pet, fostering is a rewarding way to make a difference. We provide the supplies, you provide the love!

Austin Moon and Aqua were found sick and needed bottle fed until they were big enough to eat on their own and thankfully we had a foster volunteer for them. Their transformation is proof that with a little time and compassion, you can help animals thrive.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Batdog!

Meet Nimbus, a 1-year-old soft and sweet girl with big expressive ears. She will be the perfect bestie to tell all of your secrets to and share quiet moments with. Nimbus is a happy-go-lucky pup who will greet you in the mornings with a happy, wagging tail. She spent some time in a foster home where she was shy at first but warmed up quickly with new people. Nimbus is a little lover!

Not only does she like new people but she enjoyed hanging out with her foster’s resident dog. Nimbus loves to play hard and snuggle hard, the perfect combo! She’s fun-sized at 38 pounds and will keep you warm and cuddled up on the couch during the cold months ahead and beyond.

Princess Poppy rules with soft purrs and a fluffy tail… 👑

This regal kitty is 3-years-old and is looking to be the queen of someone’s castle! At first glance, Princess Poppy may seem a bit intimidating with her piercing gaze but if you give her some time and lots of love, she will reveal her true personality. Princess Poppy is a big-hearted companion kitty who just wants to feel safe after being found a stray with one little baby.

Once she warms up to you, she loves to cuddle and lean in for pets. Her favorite spot is curled up right beside you. Princess Poppy has been spending time in a wonderful foster home where they can attest to her cuddly and loving nature.

A leash may be small, but the impact is HUGE! 🦮🐾

We currently have close to 80 dogs in our care and our leashes are looking… ruff. From all of the walks, to play groups, to in kennel drag lines, and even the lake, our leashes get LOTS of use! Will you help us keep tails wagging with fresh, sturdy leashes on this ?

Lady Tank went on a field trip with a volunteer and wants to show you. 🥰

This 9-year-old lady will steal your heart as soon as you lay eyes on her! She found herself at the APL in dire need of medical attention due to pyometra – a life-threatening uterine infection she developed likely from not being spayed. Thankfully, our medical team was able to save this precious pup and she’s finally ready to find the loving home she deserves.

Lady Tank was a stellar field trip companion! She’s a spunky girl with pep in her step, enjoying walks and chew toys. She would do just about anything for a snack! Her favorite place is with people, cuddled up on the couch or on your lap. Lady Tank has done well with children, other dogs, and everyone she meets. She would thrive in a home that appreciates her mellow nature and love for good b***y scratches.

Adopting Lady Tank means you will have oodles of sweet snuggles in your future! Please help this golden girl find her happy ending or come on in to meet Lady Tank.

Smokey is a 3-year-old handsome kitty who will be the life of the party. He is very social and loves attention. Smokey will take you up on any pets he can get and will always make you feel loved. This guy has gotten along with other cats and a dog friend in the home. He’s a playful and hunky 16 pound gentleman who will bring you so much joy and likely some laughs!

Squeak, squeak… any mice lovers out there? ✨🐭

We have 15 teeny tiny friends ready for their next adventure. Mice are fun to watch as they scurry, climb, and explore through their tunnels. They are social butterflies who enjoy living in pairs or more. Mice like exercise wheels, chewing toys, and fresh fruits and veggies. Our Adoptions team will let you know all of the care mice need to thrive as your pet.

We would like to give a big shout out to A New HoriZen for hosting the most heartwarming puppy yoga session in support of the Cleveland APL yesterday! 🐶💕

Lots of great stretches were had and lots of puppy kisses were given. Not only did they raise money for animals in need, but a few of these puppies won the hearts of participants and have already found their new homes! Thank you to all who supported this event and reminding us that a little puppy love can go a long way.

Meet Allegra, a cool 7-year-old kitty who has been hanging out in the Adoptions office. He adores human company and is happiest when curled up on a cozy lap, soaking up all the love and attention! He has a soft, shiny coat and soulful eyes that make it impossible not to fall for him. Allegra loves pets and being brushed, he’s a total charmer.

Meet Roxy Lou, a 10-year-old German Shepherd mix with a smile as big as her heart. You would never guess she’s an older gal by her lively and playful personality! Roxy Lou is currently in a foster home and has proved to be very sweet and loving in their home.

Roxy Lou loves to play! She will run around the yard and loves to play with toys. Once she’s had some fun, she is a little love bug. You can tell she wants to be by someone’s side all the time and will snuggle you up. Roxy Lou enjoys walks and giving her people hugs and kisses. What’s not to love about this girl?

Moo moo moo, Cow! Oops, we mean meow! 🐄🐱

Magnolia is a little baby moo cow kitty who is 4-years-old. This black and white spotted beauty is a little bit sassy and a lot a bit sweet. She was found as a friendly stray and is ready to be promoted to best friend. Magnolia is very playful and loves to interact with humans and toys. She may be a bit reserved with pets at first but just give her a little time and she warms up. Magnolia is curious and maybe a little mischievous, but that just makes her personality even more fun!

📣🚨Please help Zoey get some attention! She has been overlooked time and time again since January.

Meet Zoey, a 7-year-old sweetheart who’s ready for her big break. They say love doesn’t cost a thing… but it could cost you a little extra couch space with her around! Zoey is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. When it’s time to play, she’s always up for some fun followed by giving you lots of love. She was a perfect house guest on her recent field trip to a volunteer’s house, proving she will be a terrific, easy addition to a new home.

Some of Zoey’s favorite things are belly rubs, toys, walks, or a nice zoom around a yard. She did really well in the car and is fine going with the flow. Zoey is looking for a low-key family where she can be the star of the show and not share the spotlight with any furry friends. We know this little superstar has more than enough love to give and will make your heart shine.

Minnie’s Second Chance

SPECIAL UPDATE: Minnie is on the road to recovery! 🐱💜 Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Second Chance Program, which helps Minnie and animals like him! We are so overwhelmed by the support Minnie has received. This sweet three-year-old Siamese cat came to the APL severely injured after being hit by a car. He needed two surgeries on his broken leg and a diaphragmatic hernia, which caused his organs to move into his chest cavity. These specialty surgeries cost more than $7,000! Thanks to all of the kind donation, he has received both surgeries and is well on his way to recovery! He will spend a few weeks in the care of a foster home with additional vet check-ups as he heals. He will be ready for adoption soon!
