It’s taken me some time to truly reflect on one of the greatest blessings of our lives… Savannah’s Faith — “Faith” — passed away this week at almost 16 years old. She was not only the matriarch and the beginning behind Savannah Goldens, but also the heartbeat of our family.
Faith watched over Ryan and Michael as they grew up — always by their side, carrying two or three tennis balls in her mouth, riding around the farm on the gator, tagging along in the car to pick the boys up from school, and simply wanting to be wherever we were.
She had two litters of puppies, though being a mom wasn’t quite her calling if it meant being away from her people. I’ll never forget her checking on her newborns with tennis balls still in her mouth — sometimes dropping them right on top of the puppies! Many nights I had to sleep beside her and her babies just to convince her to stay with them instead of running back to Ryan’s side.
As life went on, Faith and her “sister” Riley moved from the farm to our condo, becoming part of college life with Michael, Ryan, Ellie, and all their friends. In her later years, she moved to Washington with Ellie, Michael, and Riley, where she lived like the queen she was — ferry rides, farm days, hikes, swims, photo shoots, spa days, and endless love. Ellie made sure she had the very best care and adventures every step of the way.
Faith brought immeasurable joy and unconditional love to everyone who met her. She will forever be in our hearts.
To be loved by you was truly a gift from God.
Until we meet again, sweet girl — thank you for everything. We love you always. 💕
