Flubbers and Mr. Wiggles, two inseparable souls, have only each other to cling to as they face an unimaginable fate. These bonded puppies are holding each other close, providing comfort in a terrifying place, but even their bond can’t save them from what awaits tomorrow. Both surrendered and left with no hope, these sweet puppies are trying to stay strong together in the face of their impending death.

TO BE EUTHANIZED—ON HIGH ALERT MUST EXIT IMMEDIATELY! Both of these innocent pups are in a high-kill shelter where their time is running out. Scared and confused, they've been suffering in silence, holding onto each other to face the terror of a shelter environment. They are terrified, knowing each day without love or a kind touch could be their last. Not wanted at the shelter, they are lined up to be taken to the euthanasia room due to Shelter Capacity for Care.

These babies don’t deserve this fate. With every second that ticks by, their chances of survival get slimmer. They need someone to give them a second chance at life. Their bond is their strength, but they need a loving hand to pull them out of the darkness. Don't let Flubbers and Mr. Wiggles die tomorrow. They deserve to live, to be loved, and to know kindness.

Happy boy alert 🚨 Titus is an English Pointer mix, estimated to be about 3 years old and around 52 pounds. 🐕🎾 We met this handsome boy after he'd been having a blast playing fetch in the play pen. Titus not only loves playing fetch but he's also quite the pro at it, eagerly returning the toy to you! 🏃‍♂️✨

His cage notes say he's good on walks and very sweet, though a bit of training would be beneficial—who doesn’t need a little training now and then? 🐾💖 Titus is friendly, with "very" underlined to emphasize just how much he loves meeting new people! He keeps his cage clean and is ready for a loving home where he can continue to show off his fetching skills and sweet nature. 🏡❤️ Titus loves to roll around in the grass and very much enjoyed our belly rubs 🥰

If you're looking for a playful and affectionate companion, Titus might just be the perfect fit for you. Bring your whole family (cats in a hard carrier) to meet this delightful boy and see if he's the one for you!

Don’t forget every dog comes with 2 free session with Hopebridge RTA should you need them. Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of three: three days to decompress, three weeks to learn your routine and three months to start to feel at home.

The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501c3 nonprofit that markets local pets up for adoption. The SPS is comprised of volunteers and our organization is independent from the shelters/rescues we assist. We are not involved in adoption processes. The biographies we write reflect our experience with a pet. To inquire more, potential adopters should contact Stark County Sheriff’s Office - Dog Warden Division at 1801 Mahoning Road NE, Canton, OH 44705 or call (330) 451-2343.

Grass! Why do dogs eat it?!

Another reason not listed in this article is that many lawn fertilizers contain chicken, fish and beef bone meal. I have noticed that when people get their lawns fertilized and those little flags appear, some of my clients think it’s an all you can eat buffet!!

Obviously, this is very hazardous to their health and so I try to curb their eating by crossing the street or, if possible, walking in the street (when it is safe) in order to avoid those houses.

Sometimes it cannot be avoided though!

Does your dog munch on grass around the house or on walks? Discover the surprising reasons why dogs eat grass … and whether you should be concerned about this common behavior.

A message from Animal Control Officer Chuck McCleary:

"Just in the last month alone the Animal Control Office for the City of Strongsville has responded to three different situations where a deer has gotten entangled in some form of netting in residents' back yards.

In two of these situations, the ACO had to untangle the deer, putting everyone and the animal involved in harm’s way -- not to mention the stress and possible injuries to the animal.

The third was not so fortunate. It died a horrifying death, entangling itself so bad in a soccer net back drop, it was hard to determine the exact cause, but it appears that its antlers broke off along with a section of its skull from trying to release itself.

Unfortunately, this will not be Animal Control's only calls with scenarios like these. PLEASE do not leave your sports nets of any kind set up when not in use, including hammocks, volleyball nets , soccer nets, football nets, baseball nets, badminton nets , loosely woven lawn furniture, and even clothes drying lines, to name some of the more popular culprits.

PLEASE keep this in mind and inform neighbors and friends alike of this very realistic and grueling human/wildlife conflict."

8/15/24
Today’s PET SITTER PSA!!

I was in the right place at the right time today!

I was walking my client, Annie, in her neighborhood, when a little dog in the neighborhood (not a client, but I know the little dog) came out past her invisible fence line! No sooner did a FedEx truck come roaring down the street!!! Oh no! I feared the worst immediately!! However, the little dog hesitated in her driveway before making a direct line into the street and crossed to meet me and my client.

I scooped little dog up and returned her home.

Her invisible fence collar was NOT on and the back gate was NOT CLOSED.

Please please please!!

If you rely on invisible fences, make CERTAIN collars are on before your dogs are let out.

ALWAYS make certain gates and fences are secured.

Little dog could have easily been squashed, lost or taken in a matter of minutes.

I’m glad she is safe at home.

Photo of my little client and helper today, Annie.
