Did you know pollen is the most common cause of canine itchy skin in the South East?

Seasonal allergies in our pets look a little different than they do in humans, they typically have irritation and inflammation of the skin (bellies, paws, and ears) and rarely upper respiratory issues like we do!
March is the month when most spring pollens start and won’t stop until September.

Happy Fun Fact Friday everyone! Today we are talking about those pearly whites and dental health for our pets!
Did you know - poor dental health or periodontal disease has been linked to risk of cardiovascular-related conditions, such as endocarditis and cardiomyopathy. Bacteria from the mouth travels to the heart valves and causes infections within the heart.

New and exciting things are happening at Animal Medical Center!!

We are thrilled to announce that ownership and operation of Animal Medical Center has been handed down to associate Dr. Brittany Nettles.

Dr. Nettles is a native of Cleveland, TN. She is a Walker Valley High School alumna, class of 2013. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Tennessee (GO VOLS!) in 2016 and graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.

Dr. Nettles is looking forward to continuing the legacy of Animal Medical Center by providing exceptional care for the beloved pets of the community she calls HOME!

AMC is celebrating the wonderful Dr. Poston! She has been our incredible owner for over 20 years - showing nothing but love and kindness towards her patients and all of us here at AMC! 🩵💙 We love you so much Dr. Poston 💙🩵
The clinic will be closing early at 4pm on Friday, December 6th to ensure our staff can celebrate the ownership and semiretirement of Dr. Poston. Please plan accordingly.
