This is Rivie. She was spayed today. She is one of Dr. Radford’s dogs.

The protocol we recommend for your pets is exactly what we do for our own:

Pre-surgical bloodwork - to screen for anesthesia safety and help the doctor pick protocol ✅

Pre-visit medications - to improve anesthesia safety, aid in anxiety and pain control, and stop nausea related to anesthesia ✅

Pre-surgical doctor exam - so the doctor knows exactly your pets condition on the day of surgery ✅

Pre-medications - custom calculated (for her weight and conditions) sedation and pain medications to ease her in to surgical anesthesia ✅

IV Catheter - to provide safe, modern induction medications as well as help with important blood pressure control during surgery ✅

Dedicated Medical Professional - at her side to make sure she’s not too “deep” under anesthesia and also not too awake! ✅

Thorough, modern anesthesia monitoring equipment - to measure the things that humans cannot measure with their eyes, ears and other senses ✅

Warming devices, including a heated surgical table and air warmers - to ensure perfect body temp during anesthesia which is incredibly important to safety ✅

Fully sterile equipment - including the gowns and gloves and packs and drapes and all the things you see in human medicine ✅

Personalized recovery aid - from a trained Vet professional, customized medication protocols, and sometimes even our TLC specialist. ✅

Pain control to go home - because pain control should NOT BE optional!! ✅

The only thing different? At the end of the day, we lifted her into Dr. Radford’s car and now she’s sleeping on her couch instead of yours 💙

We would like to tell you a little story about our friend, Otis, and his really amazing humans 😇

Otis was a stray found on the side of the road one day. At that time, his people didn’t plan on keeping him, but they just wanted him to be safe. They picked him up and they brought him to us for an exam and thanks to Creekside Cares Alliance we were able to help them out with some food and parasite preventions. Otis was very skinny, but otherwise pretty healthy. 🥰

It didn’t take long till his people decided he must join their family. Since that day, he’s discovered couches and toys and works from home on his computer and loves to snuggle and play. He has been neutered and well cared for. 🤩

And his people not only saved him, but they paid it forward with a donation to Creekside Cares Alliance. So we can keep Helping Cleveland Help Pets.
