Meet Harli! She’s a 6.5 months old intact Rottweiler! Harli began obedience training several weeks ago. Since then, her owner has been diagnosed with with a terminal illness and is not able to take the dog back home for several reasons, due to her health. Harli is in need of a great home. She has all basic obedience and has been living inside, crate trained, and potty training is going well. We expect she is fine with children as well. Harli is a registered dog her owner now has over $5k invested in the dog, between purchase, healthcare and training. We are looking for someone who will give her a great home and could possibly reimburse some of the investment that had been made. Today was the first in home lesson for this team. Right away we start to teach the dog engagement, and that all good things come from the handler. We possess the reward, so let’s teach the dog how to be proactive in learning how to earn it. In this video you’ll see the dog disengage the owner while displaying distracted behavior. This is the urgency we expect to see when later recalling the dog from common distractions such as other barking dogs.
