URGENT - HOME NEEDED
A client of mine added a young mastiff to their home in February after reading the following post:
“Good Boy that needs a home. *having a baby and no time to dedicate to him*
Drako, male intact, hes 10mos, current on shots,
Good w/ppl, good w/dogs
-$350 rehoming fee”
Unfortunately for my clients who took Rosco in, none of this information was true. Rosco was in horrible shape. He was malnourished due to a horrible diet, had no training, and had horrible episodes of reactivity. My clients have even reached back out to the Facebook group attached below. Sadly they have said "not responsible".... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1833385830255139/?ref=share
Since February 11th, Rosco has been vetted fully, neutered, gained 30 lbs, and has been working on training using a collar, e-collar and muzzle! He’s making great progress; however, due to Rosco’s reactive nature, my clients feel it is best for them to find Rosco a home where his new owner can dedicate lots of time towards his rehabilitation, preferably away from children.
With the proper training, love and patience, reactive dogs can lead a life the same as any other dog. Reactive dogs are good dogs, too, they just take a bit more patience, effort and love.
I’ve seen it firsthand time and time again, that reactive dogs are often unstructured, anxious dogs who need someone to take the time to teach them structure. If you believe you have the time and skills to handle a reactive, young Mastiff, please reach out to me. Rosco’s a very good boy and he deserves a very good home!
