Update from former client Lexi and her family.

"This is Lexi about 30 seconds after my dad and stepmom arrived.

Grabbed a bone and started chewing.
My aunt and uncle spent the day yesterday And overnight. Lexi hung out with them all morning while I was working in the office.
She's one of your success stories for sure!"

Lexi used to struggle having visitors in her home and even bit someone. Valarie and her family worked closely to learn how to help Lexi feel comfortable and confident when there were visitors. We helped her recognize when she was uncomfortable, helped her learn coping strategies, and worked hard to help her know visitors weren't threats to her safety.

We did not need to use harsh techniques or collars. We didn't need to be her "alpha". Positive reinforcement, rewards-based, non-punitive training works!

Nellie and her moms recently decided to downsize and move into a condo. Nellie has always been a bit leery of new people and dogs. Now she needs to navigate elevators, parking garages, and many more people. The parking garage is particularly difficult for Nellie.

Watch as Valarie teaches both Nellie and her moms how to help her become comfortable in her environment!

Here Tilly is showing off a great management tool for riding an elevator, "between". By having her tuck in between your legs, we can gently hold her back when the door opens since we don't know what could be there.
