Noel and Cheese have been waiting at the shelter for quite a while, longer than most dogs typically do here. These two pups are incredibly affectionate and love to cuddle. **Good news! Noel has been adopted!!**

Noel is still at the Lakewood Animal Shelter waiting for her forever home! She’s spent Thanksgiving there. As well as Christmas. And she rang in 2025 there too.

This pup is so sweet and loving! Even after everything she’s been through. When Noel was found, she wasn’t in the best shape. She only weighed 19 pounds and had some dental issues. But Noel is flourishing now! She’s put on weight and her health has vastly improved! The Lakewood Animal Shelter team has been working hard to make her ready for her new family!

Noel is such a sweet girl and deserves a loving family! She’s been at the shelter for over 50 days and she’s so ready to find her forever home! Noel has unfortunately had a hard life but she is still so happy and lovable!

ADOPTED!

Allow us to introduce you to the sweetest Noel, a 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix. Noel has faced significant challenges during her time at the shelter. She was discovered in a malnourished state, but with care and love, she has made remarkable progress. Now, her greatest wish is to find a forever family to call her own.

Noel is an incredibly affectionate dog. She adores gentle head scratches and loves to frolic in the yard. When she wants your attention, she’ll gently place her paws on you and gaze up with her soulful eyes.

It truly saddens us that Noel has spent over a month waiting for her forever home. We sincerely hope that someone will open their heart to her and give her the fresh start she deserves in the new year.

When adopting an animal, you can expect the following:

First three days: Animals may be overwhelmed as they get used to their new surroundings.
After three weeks: They may feel more comfortable and have a better understanding of their routine.
Three months after adoption: Animals feel safe, secure, and ready to build a trusting bond with you as their pet parent.

It's important to note that the behavior exhibited by animals in the shelter often does not accurately represent their true personality at home, largely due to the high-stress conditions of the shelter.

Our Dog Adoption Fee is $120 and includes:
• Spay
• First DAPP and Rabies Vaccination
• Deworming
• Collar and ID Tag
• Flea/Tick Prevention
• 1-Year Cuyahoga County Dog License
• One Free Exam and Vaccine from Lakewood Animal Hospital or Detroit Dover Animal Hospital

JoJo was one of those animals in need. He came to the Lakewood Animal Shelter after being abandoned by his family and left to fend for himself. He had a really bad eye infection and had to have his eye removed. CCLAS raised funds for JoJo’s surgery and helped with his recovery.

Despite facing a tough start, JoJo’s story is one of triumph. Thanks to CCLAS and his loving new family, he’s thriving! Your generosity helps countless animals like JoJo find their happy endings. 💜

We love this! So happy for Pumpkin and her wonderful new family! 🎃

Lakewood Animal Control extends its gratitude to Sarah Kepple, President of Lakewood City Council and Andrew for taking the time to tour our shelter and see how we operate.

Great news to kick off the week! After over 30 days at the Lakewood Animal Shelter, sweet Venus has been adopted!! 💜 So happy to see her find a loving home.
