Our trio of Shepherd Mix pups are wondering if there's anybody still looking for sweet, playful, rambunctious puppies that they can train to do ANYTHING! Well... anything might be a stretch but they're VERY food motivated and definitely ready to learn! We aren't sure what these guys are mixed with, but they are 4 months old, weigh about 15-20 pounds, and have been here for over 6 weeks now with no interest 😢 we just can't figure out why!

Amazing!! 🐕🐈

📣 Just thought we’d give a quick little update! Since our reinstatement:

🐶🐱 223 dogs and cats have been placed with our amazing rescue partners!
✂️ 169 dogs and cats have been spayed/neutered!
📅 15 dogs and cats are on the books to be spayed/neutered!
🟰 407 dogs and cats that will not add to the overpopulation and suffering!

We’ve been trying so hard to find a balance between life and rescue. Some days are great even with the little wins, while most days we feel overwhelmed and defeated. We know there’s tons more in need, but today we’re choosing to celebrate the little wins. It’s the only thing to keep us going! If you or anyone you know in Clewiston needs help getting a pet fixed, please DM us or email [email protected].

Cookie is wondering who could possibly be looking for a small cuddlebug like herself?! Cookie is a 2 year old, poodle mix (were unsure with what) who loves snuggling with people but also loves going on adventures! She's heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and already recovered from her spay too. Cookie doesn't need extensive grooming but does like ocasional brushing to maintain her coat. She is not shaved down in this picture, this is her natural coat length & texture!

This cuddle bug Onyx is another of our latest intakes who are patiently waiting for their new family! Onyx is a 1.5 year old, 24 pound mix of your guess is as good as ours ;) he is a very playful guy who's always up for adventure but absolutely loves snuggling up with you too. Onyx is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and he's even (from what we can tell) house broken! We think Onyx would do great in any kind of home though he would like to have a family who would enjoy cuddling and playing as much as he does :D

Do we have any hound dog fans here?! Let me introduce you to one of our newest intake's, Jethro! He's a super sweet, curious, and playful 2-year old Bluetick Coonhound who's ready for a new adventure. Jethro was picked up running at large and never claimed by an owner. He's heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and just got neutered recently, so he's ready to go! Jethro is currently being treated for some skin and eye issues that he came in with but that hadn't put a damper in his steps AT ALL.

We are so excited to hear that Clewiston Friends of Animals has been reinstated! Their goal is to help Clewiston residents combat the overpopulation of animals by providing financial assistance for spay & neuter and helping TNR feral cats in the community. We have received quite a few calls recently asking for same-day appointments & emergency visits. While we appreciate that you trust us to care for your pets and will continue to do our best to accommodate urgent requests, please understand that we aren't always able to do so depending on the urgency, type of emergency, and our schedule for the day.

Because we only have one part-time veterinarian, we can only accommodate a certain number of appointments each day. While we do try to leave space for time sensitive visits to be squeezed in, these requests often overwhelm our availabilities. If this happens, we typically offer one of two things. For visits that can wait, we will offer to schedule you at the next available appt. For visits that can't wait, we will refer you to an emergency vet who will be able to see you promptly. We do this not because we want your pet to wait for care or because we don't want to help your pet, but to ensure that they get the best care possible as quickly as possible.

We understand that when emotions run high, people may say things they would not say in other circumstances. However, please do not curse at our staff or accuse us of wishing harm to your pet. We try to give our patients the same level of care we want our own pets to receive, and sometimes this means referring you to another facility who can see your pet sooner, or who is better equipped to handle emergencies we can't handle here. We thank you all for being respectful, and look forward to continuing to serve our community to the best of our abilities 🐾

⏰️ TEMPORARY CHANGE OF HOURS ⏰️

Starting May 01, 2024 and until July 2024 our veterinarian will be in office EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY from 10AM until 4PM in addition to her usual schedule! These dates include May 01, May 15, May 29, June 12, & June 26. After this, we will resume our normal schedule of Dr. Carter being in on Thurs-Sat.

We are already starting to book appointments for these days. If your pet needs to be spayed or neutered, or seen for vaccines or other care, please call to schedule at 863-983-9145 🐾

NOTE: Though our veterinarian will be in, we will NOT have a Spanish translator in office on these extra Wednesdays. Spanish-speaking clients will be asked to continue scheduling appointments on Thurs-Sat only.

Our Brady Bunch Crew have headed off in all different directions towards their new homes, including Carol & Alice! Now we just need to find the perfect home for their rambunctious "cousin" Kay ( https://www.petfinder.com/dog/kay-70543334/fl/clewiston/all-for-the-critters-inc-fl1041/ ) who is not actually related but hitched a ride with them when we made the pull from Animal Control.

We also have Alvin, Pancake, and Pringles who are still looking for their new homes too ❤️ they can be found on our Petfinder as well!

Alvin had been with us for 180 days now! He's been patiently waiting for his turn to find a new family and has watched from the sidelines as a lot of his friends (new and old) have gotten their new homes these past 6 months.

Alvin is a very sweet, rambunctious boy who's a little shy at first but loves EVERYONE. He goes out in our small playgroups daily and has only not gotten along with 1 other dog who thought that he was a little too rambunctious for him. Alvin would do well in almost any home, though he'd prefer one that would be more on the active side and does need some work on manners in the home. Alvin doesn't tend to take good pictures because he's either too busy playing and having fun or he's asking to climb in your lap for cuddles. We've managed to somehow convince him to sit still for this photo, I think he wanted to show off for you guys 😉

In 2023 our veterinarian diagnosed at least 35 dogs with heartworm disease out of the 400+ dogs that we tested.

Heartworm treatment at our facility ranges from $750 - $1200 or more depending on the size of your pet and their current health and ability to withstand the treatment.

Comparatively, Heartworm prevention can cost as little as $30 - 50 for a 6 month supply!

Don't believe this Tall Tale! The numbers don't lie.

This weekend we got to say goodbye to the last of our "Criminal Minds" crew who came in last year. It took a few months to find everyone their perfect new families but we finally did it!

Shasta is wondering why it seems like nobody is interested in having such a sweet dog like her in their life 🤔 she just wants somebody to love her as much as she loves them.

Shasta is approximately 2 years old, weighs 70 pounds, and loves EVERYONE she's met so far (both 2 & 4 legged). Shasta does shed but some regular brushing helps manage this, she has not been destructive, and seems house broken too. Shasta loves to explore like most dogs but even more than that she loves to be with people and enjoys cuddling on the couch.
