Great day at the Behler Equestrian, LLC horse show!

⭐️Charlie & Mia started off the day with a champion ribbon in the leadline division!
⭐️Isabella & Mia were also champion in the WTC Equitation division (grabbed the wrong ribbon oops)
⭐️Myra & Malley had awesome rides and got nice ribbons in the Hunter Hack
⭐️Katie & Mia had great ribbons in Crossrail Hunter
⭐️Emma had great rounds on Dunkin & Salem in Crossrail Hunter
⭐️Lori (Emma’s mom) had a successful ride on Miss Mia to a blue ribbon in Parent Leadline! 😉

Everyone had wonderful and tactful rides today and I’m so proud of you all! 🏆

🐴 Deadline for orders is Saturday November 16TH.

🐴 Turn around Time is 10-14 Business Days after your invoice has been paid. Although, I have preordered some prints so should be shorter.

🐴 Invoices will be sent on day after the closing date. We invoice through PayPal but the link has option for Venmo or debit/credit card. You do not need a PayPal account. I will post individual links to your invoice under your name. If your invoice is not paid within 3days of receipt it will be cancelled. This holds up the ordering process and not fair to those that do pay in a timely fashion.

Malley is available for on-site half lease!

Malley is a 15.1h 10 year old draft-cross mare with a body built like a tank & the biggest personality.
She will stand tied all day to be groomed and doted on. She loves kids and is safe for a strong advanced beginner. She has 3 smooth and comfortable gaits, wonderful equitation mount.
Malley goes English or western and is truly an all-around horse. She jumps, trail rides, chases cows, hunter paces, barrel races.. you name it, she’ll do it.
She is a true gem.. come share her with us!

Please be respectful of our cancellation policy. We understand that with school and other activities going on schedule conflicts can happen.

Please notify Lindsay ahead of time as there is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into the lesson schedule & she will work to get you rescheduled whenever possible.

All I Want To Do Is Jump

I ran a fairly large lesson program for almost 20 years. This is a statement I have heard over and over, both in my lesson barn days and from colleagues today.

All I want to do is jump.

There are a few problems with this. Let's start with the horse. I love the old horseman's saying " horses only have so many jumps in them ". Is that 100, 1000 before it becomes lame.... No one knows....but horses certainly weigh a lot and the concussion landing on those small little legs is significant. Horses also get bored, burned out....and let's face it...sour.
Respect for the horse . The riders job is to do the best thing for the horse. Most horses only need jumped a few days a week. That means if a lesson horse works 5 days a week, only 2 of those are jumping days. 3 of those are purely flatwork or hacking.

Riders : most of jumping well has NOTHING to do with jumping. Riders need to work on pace, transitions, straightness, their position, effectiveness of aids, balance, ability to change positions smoothly ( from 2 point to sitting etc ) and so much more.

So if you are one of those students who Just Wants To Jump , please replace that with "I want to be an effective rider and horseman or woman . I want to do what is best for the horse "

And instructors who cave to this plea from students
Only YOU can set the CULTURE of your barn. Talk frequently about horsemanship and doing right by the animals.
