Even some of our shyest cats will emerge from their hiding spots to come get some @fussiecat tube treats!!! We have been working with Cali for about a year… she used to run and hide anytime someone came into the room. Let alone let us pet her or better yet almost get on our laps!!
This is huge progress! With consistency and still moving at a slow pace, we think she will continue to warm up and build trust. I do believe, if she goes to the right home with the right family, she could flourish!

Sometimes we get literal scaredy cats… cats like Lilo and Loki, here, just need time and patience to build trust and confidence. If you move too fast and try too much too fast or aren’t consistent, you jeopardize the whole process. Keep reading if you need some help building some trust between you and your new kitty.
This video was condensed and sped up to less than 2 minutes but I spent 20 minutes with these boys. Which is a good amount of time to start with.
We got these boys last week. They are vetted and healthy so in reality they would be fine to go into one of our cat rooms. But they are scared and need some time to adjust. With that said, we have them in a crate covered with a blanket and it has everything they need in it. Everyday we will visit with them, open their crate door with a boarded off area for them to come out and explore if they want to. We will continue to offer them treats, this helps them get used to our scent and starts building trust. The tube treats are great for this!!! After a bit of time, if they do not take the treats from us by hand, we will put it in a dish and set it next to them. But we will stay and talk with them while they sniff and eat it. Maybe offer some more by hand or move on to a toy. A wand toy works the best!! Cats of all kinds go crazy for these wands!!! You can see these guys get a little interested but still not quite ready to come out of their shell to play yet. And that is fine. I then offered a treat one more time for Loki who didn’t eat any treat yet but kept getting closer and closer as I kept offering it. I got a few sniffs. Then I left it on a dish for him to try when I left them be.
There has been enough time now that we also lifted up the blanket. Keeping them in a dark cave won’t help them come out of their shell. Cats are naturally curious and adventurous. Opening it up at this point will spike their curiosity and hopefully get them to move around more, get used to more noises, lights, smells, p
Rosie is getting a little too comfy here, I think 🤔…. She has her own little suite, but I have a feeling she would love her own house much more. She is literally the sweetest girl!! 🥰🤗
