The holidays are one of our busiest seasons and also one of the most meaningful. While many are home celebrating, our GRRoM transportation team is on the road, moving dogs closer to safety, healing, and home. Every mile matters and every handoff tells a story.

Jasper is one of those stories.

Jasper was safely transported to his second foster home after spending time with Mike and Sharon, whose patience and consistency began to bring him out of his shell. They had not yet been able to touch him, but when it was time to say goodbye, Jasper stood up on his hind legs, leaned his head against her chest, and gave her a hug. Appreciation or sympathy, we may never know. Dogs have a way of knowing exactly what we need.

After crossing state lines and heading north, Jasper arrived at his new foster home. A GRRoM collar was gently placed on him, followed by a quiet walk and calm decompression time. Doors were closed, expectations were low, and space was given. Jasper explored, bird watched near the door, and slowly chose connection. By the end of the day he had eaten chicken, drank water, gone on walks, and was following his foster everywhere. That night he fell asleep on the couch and his foster family was thrilled.

These moments do not happen by accident. They are the result of training, teamwork, and fosters who are willing to meet dogs exactly where they are. Mike and Sharon truly knocked it out of the park with Jasper and (they also helped with Tater!), and shared how impactful the GRRoM foster training programs have been. Those tools are changing lives, not just for our dogs but for the people who care for them.

And while Jasper’s journey was unfolding, Daisy and so many others were also on the move. Each transport is a thread in a much bigger story of compassion, trust, and hope.

Thank you to every transporter, foster, trainer, and volunteer who gave their time over the holidays. It is a privilege to be part of a team that shows up like this, mile after mile, dog after dog. 🐾

🎉 Indy was adopted! 🎉

This sweet girl is overflowing with love and happiness, and she has settled beautifully into life with her new family. Indy and her new Golden sister, Sheila, are getting along wonderfully.

As an added bonus, Indy has discovered one of her favorite things: snow!

Indy came to GRRoM from a in Ohio after spending a year in foster care. Today, she’s right where she belongs feeling loved, secure, and ready for all the adventures ahead.

💛 🐕 Meet the Team 🐕 💛

Barry Clymer
Transportation Co-Coordinator 🚐🐾

A few years ago, we said goodbye to our Golden, Guinness, our 120-lb gentle giant. He kept the kitchen floor spotless, helped with peanut butter toast, chased squirrels, loved people more than dogs, and lived for snowy days (we even built him a snow fort ).

When he passed, there was an unmistakable quiet in our home. We knew one thing for certain: our lives needed another Golden. Not a puppy, but a soul who already knew what it meant to love.

That search led us to GRRoM… and to Miya.

Before we could overthink it, this beautiful 7-year-old Golden was on her way to us. And just like that, Miya picked up where Guinness left off: floor cleaning, peanut butter supervision, and twice daily walks where she chooses the route. Thanks to her, we’ve met neighbors who are now dear friends, all greeted by her signature Golden howl.

Miya loves people (especially children), snow, snuggles, and reminding us daily how joyful life can be.

Miya rescued us, not the other way around.

Through GRRoM, I found not only Miya, but a purpose in retirement. Volunteering as a home visitor and transport volunteer has given me the honor of helping Goldens begin their next chapter, delivering them straight into loving arms and fresh starts.

For all of this, I am endlessly grateful.
Thank you, GRRoM.

Rescue Tips:
• Love them as unconditionally as they love you
• Let your dog rescue you, it’s emotional therapy
• Let walks be slow and curious, what’s the rush?
• Speak calmly and simply
• Accidents happen, your dog matters more than the carpet
• Tell your dog they’re a good dog… at least 100 times a day (belly rubs required)

Charlie came to his family terrified, shut down, and carrying more fear than an 8-month-old puppy ever should. Touch was scary. Men were scary. Leashes, grooming, even bedtime routines felt impossible.

With patience, consistency, support, and so much love, everything changed.
Today, Charlie asks for kisses, loves his blankie, trusts hands near his face, plays with his “grinch feet,” walks confidently through once terrifying doors, and has become a full on daddy’s boy.

This is what rescue looks like. Progress, not perfection. Setbacks and small wins.

Charlie and his family want you to know:
✨ Scared dogs can heal.
✨ Trust can be rebuilt.
✨ Love changes lives for you and them.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, we need you. Dogs like Charlie need safe homes, patient hearts, and people willing to walk alongside them as they learn how to be dogs again.

🐾 Be part of the beauty in rescue

Because happy, lovable endings like this one start with someone saying yes.

Many of you have been following Tater’s journey over the past few weeks. This 2 year old, 65lb golden boy was surrendered through no fault of his own. He needed more structure, guidance, and stability than his previous environment could provide.

Tater is young, incredibly bonded to people, loves car rides, thrives on routine, and wants nothing more than to feel safe and secure. Like many sensitive dogs, he struggles with resource guarding (especially balls and his people), vocal reactivity to moving objects, and excitement when meeting new friends. These behaviors are workable but only with the right support.

After being moved between multiple foster homes, we saw the toll the instability was taking on him. We knew we had to do better for Tater.

Today, Tater is heading to to begin a 4–6 week behavioral modification board & train program. This facility was highly recommended by some of our GRRoM adopters and one we feel confident will give him the strong, calm leadership he needs to truly thrive.

This program is an investment in Tater’s future and costs $5,000.

We’re asking our incredible GRRoM community to help us fundraise for Tater’s rehabilitation, just as you’ve helped Archie, Champ, Hazel, and so many others before. This training gives Tater the best chance at long term success, stability, and a forever home.

If you can’t, sharing his story means more than you know.

Dogs like Tater deserve a future and we are committed to making sure he gets one. Thank you for believing in him, and in rescue. We will continue to share Tater’s progress throughout his program so that you can witness his transformation with us!

Daisy wants to know if you’ve been Naughty or Nice this year?!

We know which list she would be on. This Nice girl had quite the journey during her rescue. She was a puppy mill mama who was rescued from out of state. Our transportation team coordinated a relay to get her to her amazing foster home in Port Huron, where she was swiftly adopted.

Daisy has had so many achievements, including meeting Santa and bringing lots of smiles to the children’s faces who were patiently waiting their turn. Daisy’s story reminds us that the most challenging cases are often the most rewarding!

‼️ We are calling on all of our Golden Rescue Angels to help 2 Year Old Tater! ‼️

Tater is a 2-year-old neutered male, 65 lbs, who urgently needs a foster or temporary foster home due to circumstances beyond his owner’s ability to manage. He is young, stable in many ways, and very adoptable in the right environment.
Tater is a dog who bonds deeply with his people. He loves car rides, thrives on routine, and wants nothing more than to belong. With structure and clear boundaries, he has already shown he can settle and succeed.

Why Tater Is a Strong Foster Candidate
• Neutered and microchipped
• Housebroken and crate trained
• Responds to his name and knows basic commands
• No separation anxiety
• Not fearful of thunderstorms
• Not a destructive chewer
• Highly motivated by balls and treats

What He Needs Help With
• Jumping on people when excited
• Counter surfing
• Vocal reactivity to wheeled objects such as cars, bikes, and scooters
• Resource guarding, primarily over balls and people
Tater has had a few altercations with other dogs related to guarding, which is why he must be placed as an only dog. He successfully lived for nearly a year in a second home with structure and management, showing that the right setup truly matters. A recent dog fight with no injuries and no veterinary care required means he can no longer stay there.

The Home Tater Needs
• Only dog household
• Adult only or child free home with limited exposure to kids 10+
• No cats due to lack of exposure
• A foster committed to structure, management, and continued training
Tater’s owner is heartbroken but out of options. This is not a dog who needs to be fixed. He needs the right environment, clear boundaries, and patient guidance.

💔 Please help us give Tater a chance
You could be the reason Tater gets the future he deserves.
