Gary's Adoptable Dogs

Gary's Adoptable Dogs Gary’s rescue is no longer open. We appreciate all the love and support over the years.

Gary Takes in the unwanted dogs in the community who need a safe place to heal and get to the point of being adoptable. Before he allows them to be adopted they will first be spayed or neutered to insure that they do not add to the pet overpopulation. He will gladly work with other rescues to get these dogs to homes outside Arkansas. He uses his own funds to care for these dogs but gladly accepts

help if it is offered. Gary is legally blind so he can't drive, but he has ones who help him get the dogs to the vets and to transport whatever is needed. He has a track record of saving many dogs and getting them into good homes and he would like to continue doing this as long as he is able.

We wanted to share this incredible story about Violet, the once feral dog out at Gary’s Adoptable Dogs. If you were ever out at Garys rescue then you had probably seen Violet running around the rescue. I recently spoke to Charla who took in Violet after she was trapped. Here is the updated story on Violet. We can’t wait to see all the amazing progress she makes over time!

Mr Gary was an amazing man. I loved our long talks, mostly about dogs of course. 😊 I met him through Facebook when I took Susie. That’s when our friendship started. Then when he had to go to the nursing home, he asked me to take Georgia (she was one of his personal dogs). When he realized that he was no longer going to be able to do his rescue, he made arrangements for the dogs to go to different rescues. All of the dogs were taken, except Violet. She had been through a lot in her little life, she was used used as a bait dog. Violet ran loose on the property and no one could touch her. Trish, who has a heart of gold, continued going out there to make sure that Violet was fed. She finally put a live trap out to catch Violet. It took her about three weeks to catch her.
Scott and Trish brought her to me. I put her in one of the bedrooms that I use for dog rooms with two other dogs. I put her in there in the cage for the first night, so everyone could get acquainted. I then started opening the door and let her come out on her own when she was ready. It took about a week before she would completely come out of the cage and stay out. I would go in there and sit with her for several hours every day. I didn’t try to touch her or force her to do anything that she wasn’t comfortable with. She saw how I interacted with the other two dogs and that they trusted me and I think that helped a whole lot. It took about two weeks, maybe three for her to allow me to touch her. She still only wants me to pet her with one hand, but she’s made so much progress. We have a little ways to go on our journey, but we’re a lot further than I expected us to be. I feel so blessed and fortunate that Mr. Gary trusted me to do this. After I got Violet, he called me about every other day to check on her. I was so glad that she had made quite a bit of progress before he passed away.
Violet is an amazing dog and deserves to feel safe and know that she is loved. She definitely has that now. It shows you that patience can pay off, just don’t give up.

✨ As we start to ring in the New Year, it's important to remember that the festivities can be stressful for our furry friends. ✨
The loud noises from fireworks 🎆 , parties 🥳 , and celebrations 🪩 can be overwhelming for dogs, so it's a good idea to keep them safe and comfortable.
Here are a few tips to help protect your dog this New Year's Eve:

👉🏻 1. **Create a Safe Space**: Set up a quiet, secure area in your home where your dog can retreat if they feel scared. Include their bed, toys, and a blanket for comfort.

👉🏻 2. **Keep Them Indoors**: Fireworks and loud noises can startle dogs, so it's best to keep them indoors where they are safe and sound.

👉🏻 3. **Close Windows and Curtains**: This can help minimize the noise and keep flashing lights from startling your dog.

👉🏻 4. **Provide Distractions**: Play calming music or use a white noise machine to help mask the sound of fireworks. Interactive toys or puzzle feeders can also keep them busy.

👉🏻 5. **Stay Calm**: Dogs are sensitive to their owners' emotions, so staying calm can help reassure them. If you're stressed, your dog may sense it.

👉🏻 6. **ID Tags and Microchip**: Ensure your dog has proper identification in case they become scared and run off.

👋 From all of us here at BCRRT - we are wishing you and your pets a safe and peaceful New Year! ❤️

My daughter set this page up for Gary in the beginning maybe 12 years ago or more. I remember how excited we all were when it got to 1000 followers. I agree with everyone else the page needs to be renamed but could also state carrying on in Gary's memory. That should end confusion. Also only have your own acts for donations not Gary's old ones

Hello everyone. This is Sarah, one of Gary’s volunteers. As you all know, we lost a hero last week, Gary Robbins. Before Gary passed away he asked that in lieu of flowers he would like donations of dog food and cat food to local shelters and rescues. If you’d like to donate dog food or cat food you can drop off donations to Budds Appliances in Clinton Arkansas or you can order at tractor supply in Clinton Arkansas and tell them it’s for Gary Robbins or Gary’s Adoptable dogs and our volunteers will pick up all donations and take to local shelters and rescues.

Myself, Trisha and Kevin are going to continue on with Gary’s Legacy. We will continue to rescue ourselves and help out where and when we can. I will continue on with this page. Spay and neutering was also very important to Gary so we are going to focus on that as well. We want to thank everyone for your support of Gary and his mission to save the animals and we hope you will help us carry on with his legacy.

A Memorial Page for Garhart Warren Robbins has been posted on the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home web site - With All Our Respect.

The world lost a hero and a legend in the rescue world. We are sorry to announce the passing of Gary Robbins. He was the voice for the voiceless. Everything Gary had he gave it to the furbabies. He was a selfless man. He did so much for the rescue community. He would take in any dog, no matter breed, age, healthy and not healthy, big or small. He took them all in and loved each and every one of them. He knew all their names even after being adopted. If someone in the community had a dog that needed vet care, Gary would tell them to take them to his vet and let them know it was under Gary. He always helped, no matter the circumstances. He could tell you stories about each and every one of them. Everyone that met Gary, had a friend for life. Gary always had a great sense of humor. There is no doubt that Gary was greeted into heaven by all the furbabies that have gone before him. Gary, you will be missed but we will take it from here and carry on your legacy.

This is from our amazing volunteer Trish Mize! Thank you for all you do!

I had such a blessed day 😊... I got to go visit one of my favorite people in the whole world Gary Robbins and I took one of the puppies I'm fostering. I've sent Gary pictures almost every day of them and this little girl is his favorite... Every person that went by us had to stop and love on her. I'm truly blessed to have my brother Gary in our lives. If you know me you know that all of God's creatures especially doggies and I've ALWAYS wanted to work at a rescue and this man right here gave me a chance and I can never thank him enough... Thank you brother for having the biggest heart for animals and letting me be part of it

Betty and Evelyn finally got their happy ending. Thank you to Trish Mize, Kevin Banzul and Ryan Stracener for making this happen! Ryan Stracener opened up their home and hearts to these 2 senior pitties that were Gary’s personal babies. Keep us updated!

Please please please….if you have it in your heart help these 2 babies get into a loving home for the rest of their years. Gary is now in an assisted living facility and no longer at the rescue. Winter is coming and it will be hard for Trish and Kevin to get out on these bad roads at the rescue to care for these 2 babies. They just want to be loved. Gary did so much in the rescue community now it’s time to give back to him and find these sweet 2 personal babies if Gary’s a soft safe place to lay their heads
