As the snow continues to fall as do temperatures, I can not see how our team will be able to safely navigate to serve our clients tomorrow morning. Looking ahead, hopefully we'll have enough time above freezing Sat afternoon and Sunday to get things safe for Monday. In the mean time, we have some adventurous individuals with rugged vehicles that will care for our patients, but we are going to call it and plan on being closed until Monday for the safety of all involved. I hope all of our friends and family are safe as we deal with this, but at this time we're getting pictures of vehicles upside down in ditches near our Anderson County Animal Hospital Norris and can not risk that with our team members. We are so sorry as we know this is an inconvenience. We don't make this decision lightly and hope to be ready to serve you on Monday. ---Dr. Will

Here we are again with the potential for weather which we all knows means absolutely... nothing. But, because many of our medical team and clients are rural and conditions begin to deteriorate rapidly at times, we are taking heed of the prediction and opting to close our offices at noon today (Friday 10 Jan 2025) and get people home safely. We will take it moment by moment going into tomorrow. We are not predicting that we will be closed, but we are predicting that we may not be able to open. Please check back here and call the office before you risk travel. We're so sorry for the inconvenience. If you have an urgent need, the ER in Knoxville is on main roads that should be traversable if you can get out. Hopefully the roads will be passable and we'll be here in the morning. Keep checking with us and we'll do our best. Please trust that we have a few industrious people who by horse or side by side or 4x4 will be able to care for boarding and hospitalized pets, it will just be a matter of whether we can staff the clinics to be effective for new patients. Stay tuned! ---- Dr. Will and staff.

With the impending weather, please check our fb page for updates on clinic closure and hours.
Safety is our number 1 concern.

Staff have been heroic pulling together for 1/2 day Monday before weather got pretty severe. All got home safe. We've been blessed that a few have been able to safely brave the elements to care for the animals in house. Most are still trapped and homebound. Tonite's deep freeze will delay improvement in their roads and leaves us unable to properly staff either Hospital tomorrow. We're still going to have to figure out the parking lots to make things safe for clients so we have a way to go. We'll make a decision about Thursday tomorrow, so please check here regularly and call before you brave the roads. Progressively some are finding better roads, but for many of us, conditions are quite impassable. Our appologies for not being there at this time, but I believe our staff are dedicated and we will continue to strive to get free of this snowy grasp one at a time until we can get back to providing service. ----- Dr. Will

Because of the winter mess, both our clinics will be closed tomorrow. We are unable to make our parking lots safe and our staff will be blessed if they make it home safely today. We thought the second wave wouldn't really be here until this evening but things are deteriorating. The main roads are not horrible, but side roads and parking lots are becoming increasingly dangerous for some. So CLOSED TUESDAY. Because we are expecting such bitter cold, it is hard to predict whether Wednsday will be any better... or Thursday. We are committed to caring for you and your pets, but must have staff and safety for clients and staff. Please call Wed and Thursday to check on our availability. Hopefully we'll have at least one of the clinics operating to some degree. We'd respectfully ask that if you have elective visits (annuals, vaccines, etc...) that you try and reschedule for a nicer day. We promise to do our best. Please be safe. The Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville will probably rebound more quickly than we will as their staff are more urban centered and hopefully clearer roadways, but I'd call them prior to leaving home just in case.
----Dr. Will and Team.

Due to the winter weather storm system we are expecting over the next few days + we would like to ensure that everyone remains safe. Due to the rural and hilly locations many of our staff live in, it is entirely possible that we will not be able to properly staff our two hospitals during some if not all of the next few days. We all know that some events are way overblown and others sneak in and cause more problems than even expected. However with the weather forecasts suggesting some dangerous conditions, we ask that you please call the clinics before taking to the roads. We promise to do the best we can to continue to care for your clients and pets, but until we see how this system effects us, we urge caution to everyone. We realize that this could be very inconvenient, but we've gotten through winter weather before and we'll get through this event also. If we are not answering our phones, please feel free to call back later because if conditions improve for our staff, we will endeavor to get one if not both clinics back operational. If there is an emergency, please contact the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville. We are hoping their location on Kingston Pike will be clear to safe travel sooner than we are if indeed we get bad weather. Again, please be safe and we'll be back in action as soon as we possibly can based on the ongoing conditions. ---- Dr. Will
